Summary
The Scourwind family legacy brought the empire to the height of its power and prosperity and defended it against all enemies. Now one man's machinations aim to shift the balance of power - with violent and devastating consequences.

Mixed feelings.
I don't know what to write. Part of me want to give 2 stars and part 5. I've liked concept and didn't liked characters and the universe. I'll have to read book 2 in order to decide ;) This book is neither good nor bad. You'll have to decide for yourself:) sorry I won't be any helpful with that..

THIS IS A VERY GOOD ADVENTURE STORY

A good story, but heavy on exposition.
while the story was enjoyable to a fair degree, the actuall story is broken up frequently by intense bouts of story exposition. The writer does tell a compelly and interesting tale, having the readers on the edge of their seats a fair few times, this is ofset by the monotonous need to describe EVERYTHING in extreme detail.
