Another Superb Ghostly Collection
This is another superb collection of amazing and astounding collection of stories. These stories are well read by Nigel Peever, along with subtle sound effects which really add to them. Peever more acts out the stories rather than plain narration. Brilliant! Tom Slemen, again, delves deep into his archives, bringing us tales from Liverpool from over the years right up to the modern era. A small point, but one I love, is that he reminds us of products and TV programmes from those days. Very reminiscent! Don’t hesitate to get this volume if you love tales of mystery and the supernatural.

Brilliant once again!
I have nearly all these audiobooks and there still brill! There good for when your chilling in the pub and out and about would highly recommend.

a great collection
Each installment of the haunted liverpool series is just as good as the last.
So many unnerving experiences told from the perspective of the people that lived them is such an interesting way to get to know a city and its people.
Nigel Peever once again gives a brilliant performance, with music and sound effects adding to the listening experience.

Brilliant
A wonderful series of scary stories and chilling tales. Twists, jumps and scares that keep the listener waiting for the next one. Great narration of great tales.

“Fear is a great inventor”
A good steady listen. Tons of nice short stories to listen to, all well written and paced out nicely. Some that a really pretty darn creepy and get you thinking! :)
Really well narrated with a great voice for this setting and I love the use of mild special effects which Nigel has blended into the storytelling. There were a couple of instances where the words seemed drowned out by the effects (perhaps made worse as I’m listening over hands free audio while driving?), but don’t let that put you off!
A really interesting compilation of tales!

More like a comedy book
IV been reading Tom's books since about the year 1999. I loved how serious and spooky they where, I'd honesty get scared to sleep with the light off.
When they initially started releasing them in audio I loved them. It was just the author reading the book with no bells or whistles so you could just let your mind wonder and build up an amazing an magical world. Gradually these books added more voices for every character and it started to become messy.
This latest installment is the worst iv ever listened to. The amount of different voices the author puts on is over the top, the accents are over the top and I feel that they are even somewhat comical and not sure if this was the intention or not?
Add this to the rediculous amount of noises that have now been added, cars, horns,nightclub music over the talking,and no end of other bells and whistles just make for a bizarre loud slapstick comedy scetch.
I can see why this was done but honestly the best way these books have ever been read was just by the reader reading and leaving our imaginations to run wild.
Love all his other stuff but honesly as an avid fan who's read and listened to every single addition of haunted Liverpool I find less is more and that I never got a chance to even hear if the stories where any good because the rest of the noise was that loud I had to try and pick the story oit from the clutter.
