About this listen

An original novel set in the Halo universe—based on the New York Times bestselling video game series!

Stripped of armor, might, and memory, the legendary Forerunner warrior known as the Didact was torn from the physical world following his destructive confrontation with the Master Chief and sent reeling into the mysterious depths of a seemingly endless desert wasteland. This once powerful and terrifying figure is now a shadow of his former self—gaunt, broken, desiccated, and alone. But this wasteland is not as barren as it seems. A blue light glints from a thin spire in the far distance…

Thus begins the Didact’s great journey—the final fate of one of the galaxy’s most enigmatic and pivotal figures.

Different Point Of View

Normally you get a Halo story either with a Spartan, a UNSC military person/group or a human civilian/s but instead this time around, you get a story with the final Boss from the 5th Halo game whom didn't exactly died. I think you would need to be a fan of the games and books/audiobooks to like this one.

As for the narrator, I have heard better and I most certainly heard worse.

Simply Incredible

This is such a humbling story from start to finish. If you have followed The Didact’s story through the expanded lore and playing Halo 4 and 5 then this is a must listen. Story is great, pacing was good and the Narrator did a really good job with this read.

One of the best things to come from Halo in a long time.

truly awesome story, left me awestruck and relaxed, a story that answered so many questions, clarified so much, and made me feel at peace with the telling of the story and character,

another trje masterpiece by kelly gay, and read so clearly and powerfully by the narrator, who is himself the main character the didact

A good knot to tie the story

At times the book can be a bit slow paced, but overall I did enjoy it. I so recommend to listen this, since it can wash the bad after Halo Infinite.

You need to listen to this

I know understand why the halo infinite seemed so empty there was an absolute ton missing from there and this fills in some of those gaps

Getting to know the Didact

I rarely leave reviews but since I purchased this book with some scepticism I feel like I owe it a review.

This book, like others before it, continues to do what 343i failed to do in Halo 4, make the Didact an interesting character with multiple layers.

Naturally I will not spoil anything in this review.

However, if you want to know more about the Didact, his motivations during the events of Halo 4 and his current situation then this book will not disappoint.

This book makes me look at Halo 4 from a new perspective and helps me appreciate the Didact more as an individual.

The book is beautifully read and has a consistent pace of plot development and revelations.

I hope this book can bring you the same joy it brought me.

The story was so good from start to finish and developed the Halo universe and the Didact character.

Throughly enjoyed the story, pacing and presentation in both audio format and book form.
