About this listen
Let’s talk.
We will have you speaking Greek in no time! Lingo Jump's parallel-audio language-learning system makes it easy to learn languages at your leisure. Whether you're relaxing or on the go, our simple, clear, and fun audio lessons help you learn through imitation of our speakers.
Listen and learn.
Parallel audio is the key to Lingo Jump's language-learning methodology. Through repetition of clearly pronounced words and phrases at a tempo that's easy to follow, you'll not only find it easier to understand and speak Greek, you'll also improve your memory, boost your listening skills, and pick up the correct accent. Our speakers follow a specific speech pattern throughout the audiobook, making phrases predictable and helping you understand words and phrases through context. We keep you solely focused on the language, without any distracting background music.
Talk like a local.
We know not everyone speaks in the same way. Dialects, tempos, and accents can vary among a country's regions and even among quarters within a city. So when you start, you'll hear our audiobook narrators using different intonations of repeated phrases, slowing them down, speeding them up, and placing emphasis on different parts of the phrases. This helps accelerate your ability to understand and speak the language naturally.
Fast, effortless, and fun!
Lingo Jump’s unique parallel audio language-learning system combines repetition, different speeds, and predictable speech patterns. Simply listening to the repeated phrases helps you pick up languages by instinct, preparing your brain for a language’s repeated patterns. It’s like we’re throwing a ball to you in the same way over and over so that soon, you can catch it without thinking about it. Lingo Jump is ideal to get beginners speaking a Greek almost immediately. The parallel-audio system also helps intermediate and advanced speakers achieve fluency in a new language.

Very useful for revision
I found this very useful when revising my spoken greek, repeating the phrases helped to embed them in my memory. Not so good for learning sentences for the first time as was not always easy to separate out the words unless you knew them already.

Excellent Learning Resource... with Reservations
I am a) useless at languages and b) a visual learner. The only sure-fire way for me to speak a language is to plonk myself down in the relevant country in a place where they don't speak English for as long as possible. That is how I came to speak French.
Failing that, for pure knowledge of a language, I find that books are the best way - various phrase books, grammar books and dictionaries, child-friendly texts... but that still doesn't help me speak the language, only read it.
Enter Audible. For learning Greek as a lockdown project I have been using the Collins Course, the Michel Thomas course and this one. The first two I find annoying, since you slowly build up vocabulary - but if I take a break I find myself having forgotten key words, so I have to start it all again. They only give you the straight path, which for me is a kind of tyranny, a school classroom where you can't get help from the teacher.
Lingo Jump, however, is by contrast cheerfully libertarian. You begin with random phrases spoken both rapidly and carefully enunciated, with a transcription and translation in front of you. You have to download an ebook for this - puzzlingly it only covers the first chapter of five (it would have been better, at least for this learner, if everything were transcribed, including untranslated phrases). Then you're on your own, copying what's said and trying to figure out its meaning. Start where you like, finish when you like. It's an immersive technique and takes quite a few hours before (at least in my case) things stick. But once they stick you're genuinely speaking and understanding the language.
It's not for everyone. I would have been at sea if I hadn't already known the alphabet and a bit of background on Greek Also the transcription does not always correspond to the phrases spoken, and you can at times get lost. But in the final analysis, out of everything available on Audible, this is the method I prefer.

No corresponding e-book or PDF file.
Found this awkward without any e-book. Sent 3 emails to Lingo Jump but was not sent the corresponding e-book. I was sent an e-book which did not correspond. Explained this and requested again with details....no reply. Pity as this would have helped my learning.

far too confusing
to in depth for a beginner. found it way to hard to understand, instead of jumping straight into random phrases it should teach you the basics in my opinion
