Summary
Do you believe in miracles? Some of you will say yes, and others will frown, saying they are only coincidences. After all, just looking at nature and the majesty of the Earth, we see miracles every day because life itself is a miracle.
When Christ was on Earth, he performed many miracles and gave that authority to his disciples. Someday Jesus Christ will return to capture his own and give them the eternal life he promised those who believe in him.
Yet I never thought about actual miracles until I lived through one myself. As Christians, our faith is tested many times. Often, I found myself questioning God. Then one day I discovered we are all part of God’s eternal miracle and that he has a plan for each of our lives. The difficult part is understanding the choices and circumstances he sometimes places before us and then asks us to hold fast to our faith.
Life is a puzzle. We do not know how the pieces fit together, but God in his infinite wisdom manifests himself to us and directs us in the path we should follow, while still giving us free will to choose our own way. Many choose the pathway leading to sorrow and destruction and their puzzle is left scattered and broken. Others learn it is only through God's help and guidance that the pathway can take a turn and the pieces fall into place.
I struggled for many years with a life-threatening illness before God revealed the pathway of healing and redemption. I had no idea I was living with a virtual time bomb in my head. Then I discovered how God had protected me and kept me in his arms until the time was right for his miracle to be revealed.
It is only by trusting God can we find the answers to life's intricate puzzle placed before us. My puzzle scattered when I was eight years old and I lost my father. I was 26 when I faced death, and by a miracle of God’s intervention I lived. I thought it was all behind me, but it took another 20 years for God to reveal his real miracle and the pieces fell into place.
You see, sometimes things seem to go awfully wrong for a very long time, but if we remember the scripture in Romans 8:28: "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are called according to his purpose", we will find out the answer.
Trusting God for his answer was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life, but it was worth the wait.
