About this listen

Only a few years ago, it seemed that the fight for gay rights was won in the UK: legal equality was achieved, prejudice rapidly dying out. Mission accomplished, right?

Wrong, argues Gareth Roberts. Homophobia is making a major comeback under the guise of the ideology of 'gender identity'. The enforcers of this new creed insist that attraction to people of the same sex is 'hateful'. They argue that effeminate men and butch women can't just be gay, but must 'really' be trans. Worse, this ideology has colonised the gay rights movement, capturing institutions like Stonewall and the gay press completely. Anyone who disagrees risks professional suicide.

So what happened to the funny, grown-up culture, truth-telling and knowing irony of gay men? How and why was the older gay rights activism, which gifted such progress to homosexual people, hijacked?

In this passionate, witty polemic, Gareth Roberts answers these questions and argues that we need a new gay liberation movement.

Exquisite picking-over of the realities of sex-difference. And how genderism tries to hide those realities.

Sex-realistic Masterpiece

Well worth listening to this indepth look at sex realism and what it really means.

A great summary

Well researched, brave, scary yet peppered with enough humour to balance the grim realities of the topic. Highly recommend.

Someone is finally talking about the homophonia of Genderism!

Brilliantly read by the author himself. He cleverly gives the background to the history of gay shame and moves into the modern version of gay shame aka genderism. From internalised homophobia to the shame the gay men who support genderism ought to feel at their blatant virtue signalling at the expense of women & children. Let's hope his satirical description of a dystopian future if we don't stop this run away train is not actually a prediction as much satire for the last few years has indeed done so.

Funny & Informative

Trans activists like to tell you that opposition to their ideology is recycled homphobia and a rerun of section 28 (banning promotion of homosexuality - since repealed). The author lived through S28 and delivers a highly articulate, witty (often very funny) rebuttal.
Terrific book offering a totally original persepective.

Excellent

Gareth Roberts’ account of some important gay history and the affect of genderism is level-headed, very well informed as to fact, and wittily written.

A brilliant and informative book

Loved the book but the author undermines himself with petty quips and put downs. It’s a shame because otherwise the content is compelling and really helps us push back on the genderist movement which threatens to aid further corruption of children and society. Gay men also need better protection and recognition, particularly children. It’s shocking that parents would rather trans a child than wait and let a gay boy mature.

Really good but ranty

For anyone wanting to understand what is going on with Gender Ideology, or for anyone who believes they know *exactly* what is going on (and this includes me), this book will teach you a lot.
I have read/listened to a number of books on the subject, and this book is now one of my top three.
Highly recommended.

Brilliant!

The other side of a contentious argument – I feel glad to have listened to this and read other books on the subject, The author has clearly put a lot of time and thought into researching and presenting these ideas and the result is, to me, convincing.

Apropos of nothing, the author’s voice, as he reads the book, has a very “listenable tone“.

I really enjoyed this audiobook.

Illuminating
