Summary
Meet the galaxy's unluckiest outlaws.
Carl Ramsey is an ex-Earth Navy fighter pilot turned con man. His ship, the Mobius, is home to a ragtag crew of misfits and refugees looking to score a big payday but more often just scratching to pay for fuel. The crew consists of his ex-wife (and pilot), a drunkard, four-handed mechanic, a xeno-predator with the disposition of a 120kg housecat, and the galaxy's most-wanted wizard.
Along the way, the Mobius crew crosses paths with the Black Ocean's vilest scum, from pirate fleets to criminal syndicates, and most law-abiding scum, including Earth Interstellar Enhanced Investigative Organization, ARGO high command, and the Convocation of Wizards.
Time and again, riches lie just out of reach, because for all the talents Carl Ramsey and his crew possess, they've also got an outlaw's greatest weakness: a conscience.
Galaxy Outlaws is a collection of all 16 Black Ocean missions chronicling the adventures of the starship Mobius and her crew, along with six short stories. This series is the perfect cure for the Firefly Season 2 blues. It's what you'd get if The Orville took place on Serenity, or if Star Wars had wizards instead of Jedi.

brilliant read. thoroughly recommend

Simply fantastic :)
I think the hardest part of finishing this series is dealing with the feeling of loss, these characters have become like close friends or even family. So if you liked Firefly you should love this, enjoy.

A must for sci-fi fans
I really enjoyed this whole series. The narration kept me gripped from start to finish. A must for any truck driver wanting to forget the boredom of the motorway!

what a series!
Not often do you come across a series like this which both written and narrated so well.
For a 80 something hour experience not once did I find the plots or characters getting repetitive. Naramore's performance truly brought the characters to life and has such a spectrum of voices to bring to the table it made a series like this such a great listen.
I love the combination of magic and tech in a space opera which is a mix you dont tend to find, but is something I want to find more of.
can't wait for more black ocean books, highly recommend.

well worth it - sorry its over.
great stories and great characters very well narrated apart from the horrendous English accents of a few sideline chararcters. It was akin to Dick van Dykes cockney attempt.

83 hours and I was sad it ended
Title says it all, did I miss some bits? Yes, did I think some bits where padding? Yes, did I love every second nonetheless? Fuck yeah!
As a huge firefly fan, this sang to me. I loved Mort and Carl’s relationship, Roddy was the brilliant voice of reason to a lot of the story and Esther was such a clever little wedge!
Will be listening again.

Loved this whole series. While watching I have memories of firefly but it is also totally different. Amazingly written and the narrator is perfect

best value audio book ever
loveable rogues, space hiests, romances and revenge and all in a well thought out panspermic universe complete with politics, organisations, religions, , alien races and wizardry, it's genius and unless you are stuck in a cave with only an audio book for 4 and a half days should last you a couple months worth of commutes , thoroughly obsessed with it now.
