About this listen
Two broken omegas and one hard-edged alpha…three men who are stronger than they think...especially when they trust each other enough to be vulnerable.
A pair of omegas who are everything to each other...not only are they best friends, they’re also lovers. In all the years that they’ve been on the streets fighting to survive, they’ve had one end goal: to one day find an alpha strong enough to love both of them equally.
An alpha without a purpose...
Since his return to civilian life, Beaumont has yet to reconnect with society. Instead, he spends his nights running from nightmares and memories of war. While out on one of his nightly wanderings, the alpha catches sight of two of the prettiest angels he’s ever seen. Intrigued, he follows them home… only to find them taking refuge on a filthy, discarded mattress in an abandoned warehouse.
Three broken men who can heal each other’s wounds...
Beau goes from stalker to protector in the blink of an eye when his angels need him to intervene in a bad situation. Before he realizes it's happening, life as he knows it changes to become something new and precious.
Lukas is the protector. He’s tough, snarky, and would happily give his own life if necessary to protect his Gid. Time and time again, he’s proven his strength by rescuing Gideon from would-be attackers. Now he needs to find the courage to let go and trust Beau to protect them all.
Sweet, angelic Gideon is used to being protected and adored. None of the horrible things in his life seem to affect him, because at the end of the day, he’s always had Lukas... and that’s all that matters. When the chips are down, can Gid discover his inner strength and step up to be an equal partner in this fragile new triad?
This mmm book contains mpreg, and intended for 18+ listeners. Possible triggers for attempted sexual assault, violence, and breath play kink. Parts of this audiobook are a little darker than you’re used to from Susi Hawke, but an HEA and all the laughs and shmoopy feels that you’d expect are definitely included!

Enjoyable mmm mpreg romance
This is a new series from Susi Hawke, a favourite author of mpreg, and this is yet another wonderful world that she has created.
Book one in the Lone Star Brothers series follow two omegas, Lukas and Gideon, boyfriends who have lived on the streets for the past few years but are starting to get things together with a new job lined up and the support of their friend Dallas who allows them use of his gym equipment and utilities in exchange for after hours janitorial services. Then we meet Beau. Alpha, retired military, struggling to communicate with those around him and now interested in the two omegas that visit his brother's gym. When an incident occurs bringing the men together, it's something that can bring them all together or pull them apart.
We have three separate MC's and they each bring their own personality traits to the story, endearing them to the reader and each other. Gideon is the home maker, he wants love, a family and a home to call their own to look after. Lukas is an independent thinker, wanting to provide and care for Gideon as he has done most of his life. Beau is someone you can't help but love with everything he went through when in the army and now back home, he's distant with his family and the omegas he longs for. His protective instinct is eventually what brings them together though. The three work well together, though Gideon is easy to love others, Lukas stands firm in needing time to accept another into their world. There are several moments where one or more are in danger and the protective side of the others shine through, proving their worth and love to the others, and themselves. The pregnancy especially, brings not just the three men together but also the rest of the family. It's enjoyable reading the other brothers as they bring a lightheartedness, especially Housten.
Susi does well at drawing us in to the goings on of all of the characters and the relationship between them. You can't help but fall into the story and follow along as our MC's are put through the ringer, physically and emotionally.
I love that we get an introduction to the Beau's brothers, giving us a slight insight as to what we'll be treated to in the future books in the series.
Listening to this story through John's narration is so very enjoyable! He gives us clear, individual voices for Beau, Gideon and Lukas as well as the other brothers in the family. Emotion comes through clearly, both when he's giving us inner monologue and interaction with others. The narration easily pulls you in and brings you closer to the story and the characters, giving you more enjoyment especially of the tense moments and the happy ones. There are many moments that had me smiling and laughing whilst listening and you know a narrator is doing well if they can cause you to enjoy it that much.
I definitely recommend this book and look forward to the next in the series.
