About this listen
Gifted with meta-human powers in a world full of capes and villains, Tori Rivas kept away from the limelight, preferring to work as a thief in the shadows. But when she's captured trying to rob a vault that belongs to a secret guild of villains, she's offered a hard choice: prove she has what it takes to join them or be eliminated.
Apprenticed to one of the world's most powerful (and supposedly dead) villains, she is thrust into a strange world where the lines that divide superheroes and criminals are more complex than they seem. The education of a villain is not an easy one, and Tori will have to learn quickly if she wants to survive. On top of the peril she faces from her own teacher, there are also the capes and fellow apprentices to worry about, to say nothing of having to keep up a civilian cover.
Most dangerous of all, though, are those who loathe the guild's very existence. Old grudges mean some are willing to go to any length to see the guild turned to ash, along with each one of its members. Even the lowly apprentices.

addictive story with a great finish
I first thought the book was overly detailed but then got used to the style and by the end I was compelled to find out what happened next. I really grew into the story.narration was a bit limited but I never got confused with dialogue. I liked the detail in the design of the world. I could easily believe this existed.

Fantastic anti heroes
Still unsure whether this book is targeting at children or adults but that is testament in itself to a broad appeal! So much fun

Really enjoyed this book
For once a book that lives up to the reviews. This is an enjoyable take on superheroes. It's the take off Tori apprenticeship with the villains guild and builds to a fine battle of good Vs bad. The villains code means the villains are rogues, rather than truly villainous.
The narration was quite good, but there wasn't enough differentiation in voices to recognise the characters from them.
I look forward to the next installment

An awesome Supervillain book
A great Supervillain book showing nicely the trials without being ridiculous. the sorry flows well and the characters feel believable with no one being excessive 2d. Credit to the Narrator for a brilliant performance that pulls you into the book.

A riveting listen
This is one of those books where after I had finished, I immediately looked for a sequel, sadly nothing so far, but I live in hope to learn more of the Guild of Villains

A brilliant story, good narration.
Brilliant book, some of the voices sound the same and the men's voices especially sounded old even when they weren't old characters necessarily, but it was a brilliant story and Amy Landon did do a good job at narrating it despite those two small little issues. It really is worth a read/listen. I can't wait for the second installment, keep up the amazing work!

Another great book from Drew Hayes
It's not surprising that he can do super powers well after reading Super Powereds, even in a separate universe with a different system entirely. This is a series I will be looking out for, I can't wait for the next installment!
