Not so much about employment strategy

I read an article from the author on HBR and purchased this book thinking it will talk about ways and strategy to enhance your capabilities as an employee and discover different ways to outshine in workplace.

The book mostly spoke about a series of topics that are in vogue for last 3-4 years in the Personal Development space - Topics like Thought leadership, publishing blogs, books, etc and marketing and monetizing them. And towards the end , literally in the last 4-5 sentences the author says these principles can also be applied while in employment.

Maybe I took the title in a literal sense but If you are one of those guys who can barely sit quite for a few moment and have read and listened to any book out there on Self Development, there is no novelty here.

Without sounding too negative, I'd like to add for those who haven't given much thought to the importance of thought leadership in your career, the author do provide a good primer on how to go about it.

Good advice & good narration

Good advice & good narration. Also just the right length. First two chapters are where the vital content sits.

Apply Lean UX thinking to your career

I’m an admirer of Jeff’s work. I’ve read his other books, heard him speak, and put Lean UX methodology into practice.

This is a neat little book, but holds no surprises if you are familiar with his philosophy.

I enjoyed it, it was very easy to listen to, and prompted some new thinking about my career.
