Summary

In October 2010, The Ryder Cup came to Wales for the first time. With a potential worldwide audience of two billion, all eyes were on us, and we delivered, even if the weather didn’t. Thankfully, the green staff at Celtic Manor delivered too and became heroes for a moment, as they dealt with all that Mother Nature could throw at them. This is a small part of their story. A story of a love for golf and greenkeeping.

Major insight into major golf

As a fellow Greenkeeper this is a wonderfully enjoyable listen. the book touches on so much. 4 chapters in and I felt like my Welsh history and Roman knowledge was enhanced and that’s before the wonderful green keeping insights 👍👍

Just Wonderful. Not just a good book.

Heartwarming. What a wonderful read. Not just a book about the Ryder Cup but the history of Wales, it’s landscape, ecology and so much more. The writer has such a unique, relatable way of telling things. Very similar style to Bill Bryson. My new favourite book!

A great listen from start to finish

Really interesting listen, not only does it go through the whole Ryder cup event but gives a very interesting and knowledgable insight into greenkeeping its self as well as the history of the game and the local surroundings. Would definitely recommend
