About this listen
What happens when a mysterious and dangerously attractive stranger comes crashing into a detective's life?
Lyra is the kind of woman that people look at. Whether they want her or they want to be her. She is dazzling, charming, endlessly smart, and her sharp blue eyes burn through your very soul.
I wanted her. Right away. Even though it was wrong.
What did she want with someone ordinary like me?
What would I do when everything close to me began to fall apart?
Falling For Her is a captivating short story from the best-selling author of Her Royal Bodyguard.

Thoroughly Enjoyable - A Chance Find!
I found this audio book through an advertisement while scrolling on Facebook and decided to try it out. I didn't anticipate to be immediately hooked by the tale of this conflicted constable, but I finished the book in one sitting and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Margaux Fox's protagonist, Jen, is a hard-working police officer who has found herself at a nexus in her life; overlooked in her career in favour of subpar officers, and feeling trapped in a humdrum marriage, she is an earnest and likable character who wrestles with her integrity when fate throws her life into disarray, and into the thrall of the enigmatic Lyra. Fox's prose is clear and flows like a river, often with a quaint turn-of-phrase.
Jaye Kew's delivery of the material is beautifully executed. From the beginning of the book her velvet contralto tones richly convey a conflicted woman reflecting on the dark events of her recent past, and who is wrestling with her morality and integrity. As the book develops, Kew's voice shifts between characters seamlessly, making for an enjoyable listening experience. Kew is capably equipped for both the pathos and elation in this story.
In sum, I would heartily recommend this audio book to potential listeners, and I look forward to hearing more from these artists.
