Summary
A short story by L Nembhard: In the sunny tranquillity of her uncle's garden, eight-year-old Lilly uncovers an old, buried doll that whispers unexpected words. As the doll's presence disrupts their lives, Lilly's family is left questioning its origins. What secrets lie behind the doll's eerie whispers? Can they unravel the mystery before it consumes them? With each strange occurrence, they're forced to confront the chilling possibility: is the doll merely a toy, or something far more sinister?

Spine chilling yet captivating tale
As a fan of thriller and horror genres, Eve took me on a journey that left me both thrilled and chilled to the bone. I listened to this audiobook during a long drive for a work trip and found the intense and unsettling experience left me yearning for more. From the moment the story begins, it draws you into an atmosphere full of suspense. The narrative keeps you on edge as the sinister nature of the doll, Eve, is gradually revealed. I’m looking forward to Part 2!

Great Listening.
This is a very good story from Lateefah Nembhard, It is creepy and edge of the seat listening at it's best. Although short the story is complete with excellent characters that are easy to get to know. The story is unpredictable and so keeps the listener wanting to keep listening to see what is going to happen next. Sarah Edwards's narration is spot on with just the right kind of emotional input to make a good story outstanding. Highly recommended.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the author and leave this honest review.

This could quite easily be a movie, the story flowed really well and the ending leaves you wanting the 2nd book.

A Gripping Tale of Mystery and Suspense
L. Nembhard’s short story is a captivating blend of innocence and eerie suspense! This beautifully written story is a must-read for fans of mystery and horror. Prepare to be enthralled! The characters are richly developed, and the family’s dynamic adds depth to the unfolding mystery. Nembhard’s storytelling is captivating, drawing me into a world where the line between reality and the supernatural blurs seamlessly. Defo recommend!!

A fun 45-minute listen that starts a story rather than being a story
I loved the narrator. She has an array of amazing voices from older adults all the way to young children. Brilliant.
While this was a fun quick listen, it’s more of a story starter than a full short story.
Thanks to the author for this quick, fun, free listen via an Audible promo code. It brought anticipatory smiles when I needed them!

sufficiently creepy
Sometimes you just need a really creepy book to listen and this one hit all the marks with the doll. There is something creepy about dolls - not going to spoil how the doll works but would have loved a longer version of this story with a lot more back story and a lot more creep - it just has the makings for it. As a short story itself it worked though and thoroughly enjoyed it just wanted more.
The narration was perfect just creepy and lots of different voices and tones which suited the style.
