About this listen
Two high profile victims - a former left-wing radical turned environmental campaigner and a geneticist researching the possibility of inherited memory - are found murdered within 24 hours of each other. Both men have been scalped. Jan Fabel and his murder team have nothing to go on other than a single red hair left as a signature at each scene - each hair cut from the same head at least 20 years previously. Connections begin to appear: a long disbanded terrorist group; a mummified body; and a killer who believes he has been reincarnated to exact a terrible revenge on those who betrayed him in a previous life.

Nice wee twist at the end.
Another good story from Mr Russell. The narrator has such a rich voice in telling this story. some day I will try to read these books in the correct order.

excellent
narration great as always with barratt. interesting story. pace good. another great listen I think. The historical references were very interesting to hear. I have memories of that period and it padded out some of them for me. The characters are not as distinguishable between each other as in some poluce/crime novels but I'm gradually getting to know them a bit.

Another excellent Russell book!
Thoroughly enjoyed my 3rd Russell listen! First time I've read a series in order for a while and that is how they should be read. I as always thoroughly enjoy listening to Sean Barrett - he really brings the book and characters to life.
Excellent twists and turns and this time a good ending - felt like it actually finished the book!
Now off to listen to book 4 and looking forward to it already. Another recommended read that I would listen to again in the future.

Excellent
I recently discovered this author and I must say he is very good, pair that with in my opinion the best narrator out there "Sean Barrett" and you have something really exceptional. I would definitely recommend for fans of scandinavian noire, be it Nesbo or Henning you will not be disappointed.

Great story fantastically told.
Craig Russel has his perfect foil with Seán Barrett. Really enjoying this series of books and having worked in Hamburg I’m enjoying the topography of the setting. Great listen

hair today, hair tomorrow
Another excellent case for Herr Fabel and entourage. Well worth it from the slowish start (unusual) and tumbling end plus a real insight into former West German politics. Thinking Lennox after the Fabel series, that good!

Excellent book with an equally excellent narrator
I came to the Jan Fabel books out of sequence, but have gone back to the start and recommend that they should be read in order.
Seán Barrett is a particularly fine narrator and combining his skills with that of the author has made me lap up this book in record time. The audio equivalent of being unable to put the book down!
