Summary

Theatre professors and spouses, Nicky Abbondanza and Noah Oliver, are on their honeymoon at a Hawaiian resort, where musclemen in grass skirts are keeling over like waterfalls. Things erupt faster than a volcano when Nicky and Noah, along with their best friends Martin and Ruben, try to stage a luau show.

Nicky and Noah will need to use their drama skills to figure out who is bringing the grass curtain down on male hula dancers - before things go coconuts for the handsome couple. You will be applauding and shouting Bravo for Joe Cosentino’s fast-paced, side-splittingly funny, edge-of-your-seat entertaining fourth novel in this delightful series. Curtain up, and aloha!

Campy cozy

This is my first Nicky and Noah mystery and I enjoyed it. Dropping into the middle of a series can sometimes be harrowing, but not this time. I was able to settle into the story easily, figuring out relationships and dynamics and nine inch, uh, members. This is a true cozy – no sex. Or, it’s all behind the closed door. And since it’s a honeymoon, there’s plenty of it. A cute dichotomy.

Nicky and Noah were supposed to have help from their parents to pay for their honeymoon but the well run dry so the men are on their own. They use their theatrical skills to direct a luau for hotel guests to help offset the costs. The problem? Members of the troupe are dying and disappearing before anyone can verify their deaths. Like, bodies disappearing. And since the duo are known for the murder-solving abilities, it’s up to them – and the bumbling police – to figure out who did it. Before time runs out on their honeymoon and, perhaps, their lives.

This is a book full of humor, despite the murders. Plenty of laughing out loud fun to be had. And great feels as the two men add to their family. I’m glad I got a chance to listen to it, and I’d definitely pick up more in the series. Griswold Addams is a new-to-me narrator and I thought he did a decent job. Overall, I enjoyed the book
