About this listen
He's a widower with six young boys, accused of murdering his wife. The last thing he needs is a snoopy, sexy social worker showing up at his door!
The residents of Thunder Lake all believe Thomas Taylor is guilty of killing his second wife. They've called him an unfit father, and he fears that his six young sons will be taken away from him before he can clear his name. He prays for an angel to guide him but ends up with a snoopy yet sexy social worker on his doorstep, instead.
She pretends she is vacationing up the road at the Ainsley's Bed and Breakfast, but he knows she's lying. She has the power to take his children away, and he will do anything to keep that from happening.
Angel DeMitiri is a single mother working for Child Protective Services. She arrives with her young daughter at the lake for a vacation but gets talked into going on an unofficial call, instead. The town believes Thomas Taylor killed his wife, but the cops can't find the murder weapon to convict him. She needs to find out if the man is dangerous. If so, his six young sons will need to be protected from him. Thomas is gruff and very strict, but Angel realizes there is more to him than meets the eye.
When push comes to shove, Angel needs to make a choice that will change more than one person's life forever.
Will a woman on a mission keep a family from being torn apart, or will she be the cause of it, instead?
(Sons of a preacher, but far from saints. These men are nothing but trouble!)

Doubting Thomas
I usually love Elizabeth Rose’s old clan and Scottish history love stories, and I have had this book for a while, owning it, but not having the urge to read or hear it being read. Now after listening to it I
Wish I had listened sooner. It was a wonderful book. A man who loved his children, I think he had 6 children, was accused and was believed to be the killer of his second wife. His second wife was the Mother of Eli the youngest child, who Thomas doubted belonged to him. A Social Worker named Angeline was sent to investigate Thomas and his boys as it had been reported that the boys were not cared for and run wild. Well she soon found that this was all untrue and soon fell in love with Thomas and then they married. The accusations still continued and then Thomas was arrested for her murder. Eli, who had not spoken a word since his Mother died, then started to talk and admitted that he himself had shot his Mother.. The gun that was used was found and fingerprints tested. I really enjoyed this book. The narrator was excellent as usual and told a wonderful story. Miss Rose, you have done it again. I enjoyed it immensely.

loved it
Loved every second of it. Really enjoyed listening to it. I love Kevin Green as the narrator. There are another 11 stories of this series but unfortunately they are not yet on audio. Pity as I definitely would have bought them all. I hope that they will soon be on audio as is a bit annoying when you start a series and you can't finish it.
