Joseph Roths kluge, melancholische Geschichte über die verzweifelte Auflehnung eines um Anpassung an die bürgerliche Gesellschaft bemühten einfachen Mannes ist so zeitlos wie existenziell. Christian Brückner liest diese Rebellion genauso kraftvoll, wie Roth sie erzählt.
