well done
Time review which found the book interesting and factual. I was especially interested in the increased amount of detail which the author compiled from various sources from both sides of the conflict.

Very short but informative
Gets you into the timeframe of the situation at hand dealing with logistics, manpower, secrecy, weather. Provided revealing insights into the character and failings of numerous military officers in charge of the invasion of Normandy in June of 1944.

About WWII
This is one of the best books. A recounting of the landings and the breakout from Normandy - The book gets at the nitty-gritty and blood of a very hard-fought campaign.

Great guide
The actual battle was long and difficult as it stretched over almost two months. This book provides a lot of detail from the planning through the airborne operations and the landings but then on and on and on as the battle continued to the eventual breakout.

Awesome
A nice overview of the weeks following D day. The sacrifice of Normandy for France is often poorly understood but nicely explained in this book

Very interesting
Make you appreciate the sacrifice made by ordinary men, the genius of this operation and the errors made by generals lacking information or audacity. You have to respect the resistance offered by the German lacking air support and fighting for every inch of terrain.

A Fascinating Guide
So much new material, wonderfully written. The author does a heroic job of marshaling this material into a well-coordinated, literate account of D-Day. A thoroughly engrossing book. Highly recommended!

So I think it is a good history book
It covers all of the Armies and Navies involved and their complete efforts in the battle for northern France. As it is told in chronological order, it made following the story much more interesting.

I enjoyed this book
Packed full of information and well researched. I would recommend it to anyone who truly enjoys the history of the battles that led to the Allies getting that stronghold on Europe.
