Summary

Decision Point is an exciting new approach to personal development and self-motivation. With a saturated generalist market for personal development, self-help, and motivation, decision point focuses the wide and general narrative to a single point, the point in which a person makes a decision to make a change, and what to do immediately after.

Decision Point shows its listener how to introduce small disciplines into their lives as part of a wider plan to that personal success is ensured. The author uses experiences from 20 years service in the British Army and his important decision to leave, as the handrail through the chapters; but adds colour to the book by interviewing a broad range of people from the health and fitness world to startup entrepreneurs who have embarked on their own personal and inspiring journey’s. By the time you have finished listening to this book, you will be ready to start your own journey to success.

The perfect start to self improvement

This book is really good at breaking down how to set goals, how to make better decisions, how to deal with criticism and boosts self belief.

There are some celebrity interviews which was unexpected! Well worth a listen.

An easy framework for making big changes.

This is an easy read with tips and frameworks to make some substantial changes in your life to reach your goals.

The author uses his story to show how he kept breaking through glass ceilings by using the lessons he has learnt from his mentors throughout his life. He brings those lessons together to show how you can use these tools to do the same in whatever field of work you are in, and to keep learning new skills every day to improve yourself. With interviews from prominent business people the lessons are bought to life in a really disestible way.

This is a book I will go back to again and again.

“All models are wrong, some are useful”

This book is worth a listen. Honest, thought provoking and realistic.

I particularly enjoyed the first few chapters about Personal Development Environment - turns out mine is in the car on the way to work! Also, the interviews towards the end offered good examples.

In short, if you want change - you have to do it yourself. What are YOU waiting for.
