Summary

All Georgia Rae Winston wants is to fall in love. Life, of course, has other plans.

Georgia’s biggest challenge in the farming town of Wildcat Springs, Indiana, is figuring out how to win Evan Beckworth’s heart. Until the day she discovers the body of a former student in the woods.

She assumes it was an accident. When she starts to suspect it wasn’t, it stirs memories of her father’s murder nine years earlier. A murder never solved. Georgia refuses to let that happen this time.

Not necessarily the wisest decision.

As Georgia works with the sheriff’s department’s newest detective, Cal Perkins, she finds her heart slipping into his hands. But her head is pummeled with conflicting evidence and anonymous threats of severe consequences if she digs any deeper.

In the end, Georgia faces a paralyzing choice. Ignore the dark secrets inside the family and friends who surround her, or be willing to risk her own life to uncover the truth.

Deadly deeds

I started this series with book four and five but enjoyed them so much I had to go back to the beginning to found out what I had missed. I enjoyed it but the Christian side of the story was more apparent with this book, with them offering up prayers before making decisions. The group of friends do know each other through prayer studies. Don't get me wrong the author isn't trying to convert anyone and it is tastefully done. The characters are likeable, I especially like her two best friends who in there own way can be quite funny and caring. This is cozy so of course you get a fun and complicated love interest to get in the way of the investigation, especially as one of the hunky guy's in the police detective and the main suspect is a relative. There are a few explosive (haha) twists that you don't see coming. The mystery it's self is interesting, with plenty of suspects to keeping you guessing. I liked how it played out and I didn't guess the killer. Off to start the next book.
Georgia Rae Winston is a busy farmer with crops and her non existent love life on her mind. Until she discovers a former student dead in the woods on her property. She was dressed for hunting but without permission just what was she doing there? And more importantly who killed her? The police focus in on Georgia's cousin and before long she finds herself proving to prove him innocent by providing the police with plenty of other suspects. The dead girl had been wild in her youth, before finding God
but could something in her past be the reason for her death? as if a relative being in the hot seat isn't enough to get her involved Georgia is shocked to find a letter from the dead girl asking for her help. Armed with her notes, files and questions Georgia is going to do just that, help. Even if it means she becomes the target.I
I really like the narrator. I have listened to a few books by her and they are always a pleasure to listen to because she gives each character there own voice and the hours just fly by.
