Can be read as a standalone but part of a series
Sekhmet has had a long time to think about her actions but what if you're the goddess of vengeance. Are thousands of years long enough to see the errors of your ways? Sekhmet is trapped by an ancient curse when her time is finally up she must decide whether she can overcome her past. The reward may be greater than punishing the ones who wronged her.
I haven't read much Egyptian mythology and I really enjoyed this. Curses, romance and gods... I liked it. This was an audiobook and the narrator was really good. It's official, I'm calling it, I'm a fan of Laura Greenwood's books.

Great story
I love these versions of Egyptian mythologies. I like that the stories are short because it makes it easier for me to finish something during the day. Recommended.

Just okay
This was just not for me. This story of a goddess and gods was ok, but never really could get into it. The narrator was okay but she couldn't get my attention.

Different but good
I went into this audiobook thinking it was a supernatural romance. And in a way it was but that was kind of the side story. It was mainly a mythological story with a lesson behind the story. I did like it but it was different than what I thought the type of story would be. I prefer the romance to be stronger in a story. The narrator had a great accent and told the story well.

Wow
This book brings to mind the phrase small but mighty, there is so much crammed in here but at no moment did it feel rushed or like the characters were the same. Such an interesting twist on Egyptian mythology

Mythology for you
This spin on mythology had me a little lost! I found myself overthinking the characters. The storyline was good and the underline message of revenge is strong. Great narration.

Intriguing
Daughter of the Sun a well-composed tale based on Egyptian mythology. The storyline and the characters are refreshing, unique, and captivating, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Laura Greenwood is an exceptional storyteller, despite the length, the novella is well-paced with a solid plot. Overall this was a fantastic short story, one I recommend.

Egyptian Mythology Short Story
Daughter of the Sun by Laura Greenwood is a Egyptian Mythology story that I listened to on audio narrated by Sterling LeGrand-Carney. This is the second book in the Forgotten Gods series and can be read as a stand-alone.
I absolutely love Laura’s books! This story does end on a bit of a cliffhanger so I am looking forward to jumping into the third book in the series Servant of Chaos.
Sterling did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the future.
