About this listen

It is night in Manhattan. The president of the United States is scheduled to have dinner with an old friend, but in the building across the street a man has disabled the security and stands at a window, a rifle in his hand.

The assassination doesn't go according to plan, but this is only the beginning. Someone is recruiting a shadowy network of agents with the intention of creating terror. Their range is broad, their identities masked, their methods subtle.

White House operative Blake Johnson and his opposite number in British intelligence, Sean Dillon, set out to trace the source of the havoc, but behind the first man lies another, and behind him another still. And that man is not pleased by the interference. Soon he will target them all: Johnson, Dillon, Dillon's colleagues. And one of them will fall....

Another cracker

Wonderful series. Another great story, brilliantly narrated. I'm addicted to the characters and the series.

Same story as previous books just different crooks

Disappointing doesn’t even begin to cover it. This latest Sean Dillon installment is almost a carbon copy of all but one of the previous books. The same recycled plot points, the same predictable dialogue, and the same formulaic structure—it’s as if the names were swapped but the story stayed exactly the same.

There’s no suspense, no real character development, and certainly no effort to evolve the series. What once felt like a gripping espionage thriller now reads like a tired rehash. At this point, it feels like the author is phoning it in, relying on name recognition rather than storytelling.

Unless you’re a die-hard fan clinging to nostalgia, this one’s better left on the shelf.

Average

I've listened to all of the series so far after completing the Jack Reacher set, however this one has been the worst of all. It's the same old recipe for Sean, even the way people are knocked off has been included in previous books. Average at best, I'm off to find another series to spend my credits on.

Love the series, this one sucks

I live the characters in this series, but this one has no real plot, extremely weak and not at all recommended
