Summary
Her men and women still miscommunicate, still remain separate in different rooms, different houses, or even different worlds.
With brilliant flashes of fantasy, humour, and unexpected violence, the stories reveal the complexities of human relationships and bring to life characters who touch us deeply, evoking terror and laughter, compassion and recognition – and dramatically demonstrate why Margaret Atwood is one of the most important writers in English today.

One of the good books of Atwood
I could understand most of the stories, but all are well writing, with fantastic narrator, I just kept going and don’t regret.
I love Atwood’s reflection and insights, fantastic writer.
The narrator did a good here, her voice is so smooth that hook you in to the stories.

Intensely introspective.
Very well performed, remarkably believable and thought provoking, glimpses into the souls of the characters.

Brilliant and satisfying
Dancing Girls is a fabulous audiobook, the perfect combination of captivating stories, brilliant writing, and flawless reading. Margaret Atwood is a phenomenal writer, her work never fails to please, but there is something extra special about this collection of short stories that examine relationships between women and men - friendships, marriages, affairs. They are so rich that each is as satisfying as a novel, and deserve taking time to pause to reflect, or a second listen, before moving to the next one. The narrator, Laurel Lefkow, deserves a special mention too as her skilful and sensitive narration is the best of any that I have so far heard. She vividly brings the characters to life without obviously 'performing' and her narration perfectly matches the pace and tone of Atwood's writing. My only tiny niggle is with the production, because each story rapidly runs on to the next without pause. It would have been better if a short amount of silence had been added at the end of each story to herald the beginning of the next and allow time to hit pause. This is an audiobook that I will come back to again and again, and will no doubt find new treasures with each listen.

The essence of Atwood
I am a big Atwood fan and have read and loved many of her novels. What I particularly like about these short stories is they each expose you to a new character and world and leave you wanting more. They're so superbly observed, yet she writes so economically. Some stories leave you feeling slightly disturbed, as if you missed something under the surface. And that's the hallmark of a good short story for me - you can return and read it again and still be intrigued. I agree with another reviewer that the gaps between each story are very short. I felt I needed a space to reflect for a few moments before the next started. But don't let that stop you buying this. It's a treasure.

nothing
I didn't like the narrators accent. I wrongly assumed that it would be an English accent. And I didn't realise it was a compilation of short stories. Never enjoyed those.
