Summary

WELCOME TO NIGHT CITY.

THE CITY OF DREAMS.

IF IT HASN'T CHANGED YOU YET, IT WILL . . .

AND IF IT DOESN'T KILL YOU, YOU MIGHT COME OUT THE OTHER SIDE AS A LIVING LEGEND.

In neon-drenched Night City, a ragtag group of strangers have just pulled off a heist, robbing a convoy transporting a mysterious container belonging to Militech. The only thing the group has in common is that they were blackmailed into participating in the heist - and they have no idea just how far their mysterious employer's reach goes, or the purpose of the artifact they stole.

This newly formed gang - composed of a veteran turned renegade, a sleeper agent for Militech, a computer nerd, a therapist, a ripperdoc, and a techie - must learn how to overcome their differences and work together, lest their secrets be unveiled before they can pull off the next deadly heist.

Set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077, one of the bestselling video games of recent years, this electrifying novel from acclaimed Polish SF writer Rafal Kosik follows a group of strangers as they discover that the dangers of Night City are all too real.

cohesive yet all over the place.

it is a really good story and the voice actress is great. my only issue is that it changes inbetween characters and stories randomly without any ques or indication that they have switched. sometimes it works great and moves the story along in a unique way. but sometimes it pulls you out of the audio book and breaks immersion. still highly recommend it for any cyberpunk fan that just can't get enough of this universe.

great portrayal of night city

The story is entertaining with some string action scenes and well written characters. However it can be a bit hard to get the point if view at times the amazing performance fixes that issues quickly with distinct voices. The twists and turns are quite predictable for someone familiar with night city but a very fun read all the same.

Average

A convoluted story with uneven pacing. Even the narrator sounds like she's getting bored sometimes. It works as a portrait of life in Night City, it also worked as inspiration for me to play Cyberpunk 2077 again, but the plot has holes that left me unsatisfied. It's not terrible but also not great.

Hard to Follow

ALl in all a good cyberpunk story. Could not finish due to the editing, with no break between sections the audio jumps between stories and charicters without even a pause. gets very confusing.

Welcome home Choom

A pretty wide but interesting story with a great ambiance of Night City. Going in blind with no reference can be a bit offputting to some perhaps, but i don't class this as a hard listen.

This would be a very nice start for a long series, since cutting these stories too short is just like watering it down. it needs time and lot of content to be told properly.

Great narrator and i liked the characters included.

Excellent narration, meh story

The story seems quite hard to follow at times, and requires some knowledge of the Cyberpunk 2077 universe (from the game or the anime). I struggled to get into it, but enjoyed my fix of Night City content.
The narration was excellent however.

Night City cravings satisfied

If you neither played the game, nor watched the Netflix anime I do not know how would find this book. But if you have and if you like me find a special fascination to this world I think you will love this book as as much as I do. There are alot of references an ”cameos" to the game.
This is a nice little story and I got my Night City cravings satisfied.

Fantastic

Loved being in night city again and loved the twists and turns of the story. It fit the cyberpunk aesthetic brilliantly. Cherami Leigh’s narration was perfect.

A hard follow

Love the Cyberpunk 2077 universe but I found this hard to follow. The story for me seemed to jump from place to place with no proper transition. The voice acting was great and nothing to fault, adding extra immersion from the game, but the story wasn’t for me.
