Summary

The sixth - and final - instalment of the inimitable Spellslinger series. With an introduction and postscript by the author, and an audio exclusive interview.

The game of war is always rigged....

Kellen and Reichis are settling into their lives as protectors of the young queen. For the first time Kellen feels as if he's becoming the kind of man that his mentor Ferius had wanted him to be. Even Reichis has come to appreciate having a noble purpose - so long as no one minds him committing the occasional act of theft from the royal treasury.

But thousands of miles away a war is brewing that the Argosi always warned could destroy the continent. An unexpected source brings word that there's one way Kellen can prevent a hundred years of bloodshed, and all it requires is a little murder....

Now Kellen and his sister Shalla find themselves on opposite sides, and neither love nor loyalty can protect them from the choices they must make.

Perfect for fans of The Dark Tower, Firefly, Guardians of the Galaxy, Terry Pratchett, Ben Aaronovitch and Jim Butcher.

“Can’t walk your path if you’re always looking backwards”

Amazing! Sebastien has a knack of pulling you into his stories and keeps you guessing the whole way through. He also manages to weave a kind of pain and sadness through his story and when he tugs on those threads he hits you with the full force of the pent up emotion. But just when you think it’s all too much, along comes a squirrelcat to put the smile back on your face!
Brilliant narration that suits the characters perfectly with excellent pacing and atmosphere as well as unique character voices.
Kellen always has one more trick to play… let’s hope one say we get to find out what it is!

Amazing series, sad it’s over

I’ve loved this entire series from start to finish. It’s been exciting, sad, funny, all in one. I love Kellen, Reichis and the rest of the crew, but Ferius Parfax is probably my favourite of all! I hope we see more of these characters in the future

kinda sad it's over...for now

great ending but left me wanting more. I've read SDC's "Greatcoats" series. Can't wait to see what he comes up with next. Also, well done to JJ for another excellent narration.

I was addicted to this series!

I could only find 1 problem with this series and that it was only 6 books instead of 10!

Loved it!

Great last book in the series

It ended differently than I imagened, but glad that Kellan and Reiches manage to send the whole continent into chaos! And really like the narrator, he did a wonderful job across all the books

Same great narration!

Quick comment as the only other written review by "sion humphreys" is blatantly incorrect. The narrator is the same as the rest of the series. If you actually bought the book rather than listen to the first 30 seconds of the sample, then it's clear as day.

Perfect ending of series

I am a little sad that the series is ended, but I was enjoying every chapter and all of the unexpected twists of the storyline.
Strongly recommend if you want same thing fresh and full of unexpected...

Fantastic to the end!

So glad my 16 year old daughter said she thought I'd enjoy this series - I have listened to all 6 over a period of a few months and thoroughly enjoyed them all. Joe Jameson and his range of character voices is amazing - it was like being submersed in the middle of an active play - brilliant!! and thank you.

Bad change to narration

I love this series but they’ve changed the British voice of the main character to a stupid southern idiot ... what a shame.. another book ruined by an unintelligent American accent.
