About this listen
Alexandra Dark lives a commitment-free life. In pursuit of lost treasure, she travels the world as an archaeologist, and it's her policy to never put down roots - and to never linger for long in any woman's bed.
But when her sister convinces her to flip a rundown house in Niagara Falls, Alex finds herself caught in the middle of a mystery, and she's too curious to leave town before the case is solved.
With sexy librarian - and amateur ghost hunter - Trudy Strange by her side, Alex attempts to unravel the clues hidden in the 100-year-old house, and to restructure her long-held beliefs about life, love, and everything after.
In their quest to reveal the secrets haunting the old Victorian, Alex and Trudy uncover a long-buried romance - and succumb mind, body, and soul to the intense feelings that they have for each other. But will their newfound trust be strong enough to protect them from the dark force lurking, lying in wait?
Cross My Heart is a sexy, funny, romantic romp, a tribute to the healing power of love.

Fantastic fun different story with all facets in one book!!
This was funny interesting loving triumphant and a story that was different and full with different threads.
I would love there to be a follow up the possibilities are endless, to have a kick ass archeologist and a cerise pink ghostbuster, who I would definitely call.
The narrator was interesting and told the story well, I felt included in the story immersed within the story and characters.
Well done! More please

A funny, romantic and sexy mystery
Alex buys an old Victorian house in Niagara Falls for a dollar with a plan to remodel the interior and flip it quickly for a big profit. She doesn’t count on ghostly inhabitants and a mystery from over a century before. When she meets local librarian Trudy she has another reason for hanging around a bit longer.
I really enjoyed the mystery behind the old house and its ghosts and the various people Alex comes into contact in her quest to solve it. I especially liked Trudy. She was irreverent and hot and exactly what archaeologist Alex needed. Their interactions were very sexy but there was so much more. I liked Alex a lot too as she was caring and intelligent and her family relationships also gave an insight into her past.
I must mention narrator TJ Richards as I was very impressed by her. She has a natural style that made the story a pleasure to listen to. I’ll be looking out for more books narrated by her.

Sexy, ghostly fun with a solid storyline
What did you like most about Cross My Heart?
I'm not a lover of ghost stories, but I really loved this book. The ghostly element is dealt with so cleverly that it didn't frighten the life out of me. There is a lot of romance, some excellent sex and a lot of the story is rather tongue in cheek funny. The characters are so beautifully described, and are part of what makes this book so good.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Cross My Heart?
There are a number of memorable moments, including a scene between Alex and Trudy in the museum at lunchtime amoungst the local memorabilia....
Which scene did you most enjoy?
The book's version of the Ghostbusters was so well done and is a moment to savour
Any additional comments?
The story is interesting and enjoyable and does keep you guessing until the end. I did expect the archaeologist, Alex, to dig up the garden but it was much better than that. I promise this is a good listen.
