Editor reviews

Pati Nagle's collection of 17 short stories is a multi-genre affair that takes listeners to New Mexico. A fantasy element mixed with a connection to nature ties together many of these tales, such as "Mother Ditch", concerning an avenging river goddess, and the titular story's artist and her special relationship to wind. Diane Piron-Gelman adapts beautifully to these diverse tales, capturing a lovelorn damsel and a sardonic space cat with equal clarity. Throughout, Nagle also includes recipes for treats like New Mexican cocoa and chicken chile soup, adding to the Southwestern flavor in Coyote Ugly.
