Summary

Covenant continues the beloved saga of the residents of Jericho, a sleepy town in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia, where life and love have as many twists and turns as a winding mountain road.

Six weeks have passed since the fateful unfolding of events at the town fourth of July celebration. Questions swirl about the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of the town nemesis, Gerald Watson. Was it an accident, or was Watson murdered? As the scorching summer gives way to an early fall, suspects in the potential homicide abound, and everyone seems to be keeping secrets.

Throughout it all, bonds of love and fealty are stretched and tested as the endearing and quirky residents of this once-idyllic community weigh the covenants they keep against the secrets that threaten to tear them apart. Join Syd, Maddie, David, Michael, Henry, Celine, and the irrepressible Roma Jean Freemantle as they band together to navigate the minefields of their ever-changing world in this newest Jericho novel.

Book four in the Jericho series and a must read for fans. I am desperately hoping that McMan will write another.

Another success for Ann McMan and Chris Williams

Another good story from Ann McMan, narrated by Christine Williams.

I have read / listened to all of the novels, novellas and stories of the Jericho series by Ann McMan and loved everyone of them

Covenant again treads that very fine writing that goes from tragedy and seriousness to madcap humour from one chapter to another. Your emotions are certainly kept on a Yo Yo. The novel has four stories running through it, who killed the mayor, the relationship between Dorothy and Celine, the wedding plans for Sid and Mattie and what's up with David. The novel follows straight on from Golden Rod and certainly completes the Jericho saga extremely well.

For those of you who are looking for a good story in the class of lesbian fiction, I can certainly recommend this book. However, I'd suggest you have a box of tissues close at hand, for whether your laughing or crying the tears will be rolling. Mine certainly were, especially knowing that this is the last book in the series.

Another good one.

I have loved the Jericho community since book 1. All the characters have endeared themselves to me and I have enjoyed their growth through all the books.
I would love more to see how married life was between Maddie and Syd. Did Celine make it to the alter, what happened with Charlie and Roma Jean. What happened with Dorothy, Henry and Buddy? So many questions left to answer.

hope eternal

Ann Mcmans' writing surpasses all with the tenderness in which she describes the most evil of all crimes, for there is nothing worse than the abuse of your own child, and the love found or given by those sneered upon by religious zealots is more comforting and compassionate. beautifully narrated once again by Christine Williams , dedicated to my own Dorothy.

brilliant

I've loved these books and Covenant is possibly my favourite of the 4 , its not an easy decision.
I like how Ann McMan deals with hard topics and the aftermath along with the right and often the wrong way such events are dealt with
Above all I'm left with the fact that family is who we make it
as with the other books before this I've enjoyed learning more about the side characters in the books , watching them grow
Christine Williams narration was again wonderful
