About this listen
One night was all Kelly promised. One night was all Tabby offered. And yet one night wasn’t nearly enough…
Kelly Hernandez is on the mend. After the loss of her girlfriend to a car accident, everyone expects her to be destroyed. The worst part is—she isn’t, and the guilt plagues her more each day. All she’s looking for is a little distraction, something to take her away from herself, even if it’s only for a spell.
Tabby Reynolds is on the prowl, searching for her flavor of the night. Everyone sees the roller derby stud, not the geeky accountant who secretly wants a relationship. However, when she spots Kelly by her lonesome at the bar, some flirtation turns into one hot as hell encounter in the back alley.
Except Kelly and Tabby run in the same circles, and all too fast, they see each other again and then again, until they both cave to their desires. Casual and easy—that’s what they agree on. However, when Tabby tears her ACL, taking her out of roller derby, the relationship between them starts to deepen beyond what either of them planned. However, the past trauma Kelly’s running from and Tabby’s growing insecurities might cold snap any chance of something real before it can bloom.

Powerful love story
I’ve listened to all four of the Dungeons and Dating audiobooks and I’ve loved all of them. This one hit close to home for me. Kelly’s girlfriend was killed in a tragic car accident. Everyone has rallied around her. The problem? She feels guilty because instead of being devastated, she’s relieved. Her ex was abusive and Kelly was trying to find a way out. Now she’s free – but everyone’s expectation is that she grieve.
Then one night she goes to a bar and has an awesome hookup with Tabby.
Just one night, right? Except it turns out they have friends in common and soon the ‘just one night’ has become a regular thing. Then Tabby injures herself and Kelly’s there to take care of her. Their feelings grow. Then Kelly’s threatened emotionally by someone from her past. Tabby’s there to take care of her. But they still are keeping mum about their relationship.
Then a misunderstanding threatens to ruin everything. Each woman is holding back parts of her life – because it’s ‘just one night…’
Now, this is a Katherine McIntyre romance, so I got my happy ending. I was so freaking happy for Tabby and Kelly. And also to see all my Tabletop Tavern crew get their happy endings. Only wait…there are more books! I sure hope Katherine is able to bring them to audio eventually.
Zim Avaltrades narrated this story and she did a great job. Listening to the entire four audios in a short span of time can be a little jarring because with four different narrators, the same character can have four different voices. I had no problem though, because the narrators are all fantastic and talented. Zim did a lovely job with this one and I’ll be happy to listen to anything she narrates again. I’ll also pick up any Katherine McIntyre I can get my hands on.

Steamy!
This is another great book in the Dungeons and Dating series and the second F/F romance that I’ve listened to. I’ve had the ebook for quite awhile but never made time to read it so I was happy when offered the opportunity to listen to the audiobook.
This is the first audio I’ve listened to by Zim Avaltrades and I think she did a good job with it. She used distinctive voices for all of the characters so it was easy to know which character was speaking. The story is a bit angsty as Kelly is keeping a big secret from all of her friends. Everyone expects her to be grieving the death of her girlfriend but she isn’t and it’s eating her up.
She goes looking for a quick hook up and instead finds the love of her life. Tabby is perfect for Kelly but she has self esteem issues thanks to her crappy brother and that causes a misunderstanding which nearly breaks them up.
I’ve enjoyed all of the books in this series.

Wonderful book
I was hooked from the first chapter and really connected with both main characters. They were so beautifully written, complex and deep, they felt so real. And they had absolutely amazing chemistry. This book is sweet and steamy and at the same time deals with very serious issues. And the found family themes just warmed my heart. I really like this group of friends and can't wait for the next book!
Also, Tabby is my dream girl, butch and geeky, just perfect. And Kelly's business idea in the book was brilliant!
If you are in the mood for a great sapphic romance I highly recommend this book.
I really really loved the narrator. Wonderful voice, she brought Kelly and Tabby to life. I had a blast listening the audiobook.

good addition to this excellent series
4.5 stars. Really enjoyable voice and very sympathetically acted. Both MCs have had various traumatic experiences in their past which is why both weren't looking for a relationship, although underneath it all they both craved one. The found family is just as charming and unconditionally supportive as in the previous books. My only struggle reading this as a series is that despite the characters being different in many ways they all suffer from a similar "not good enough " which is feeling a little repetitive by book 4. Kelly's dilemma in feeling only relief instead of the grief that everyone would expect was particularly well portrayed.

Fun and sweet
Kelly and Tabby begin their relationship with a one night stand that turns into a casual relationship, which eventually turns to friendship and love. The two are perfectly suited to each other, both with their own pasts and baggage they need to overcome. The story is fun and sweet, with some heavy themes (check triggers), but what stands out most is the group’s found family.

HEA
This was my first read in this series despite owning the other books. It's also my first time listening to an FF romance read by an American and I will probably stick to reading them from now on. I'm not saying the narrator did a bad job, she did a great job, it just wasn't for me.
The story was good, though at times I found their internal dialogue a bit repetitive. These two made a great couple they just needed to communicate better and learn to trust others with the loads they were carrying.
I'd have liked to have seen a bit more in a couple of scenes, especially the wedding scene, I would have liked to have seen how that played out.
The topic of domestic abuse was done well and I really felt for Kelly and all she had been through.
I look forward to reading the previous books in the series and meeting the side characters properly.
