I can't believe I waited that long to read a book by this author and for my first, I listened to the audio version of Confess. I found the narration great and perfectly performed by Tracy Marks and Aaron Shedlock.

First, I would like to say this book is superbly written. A. Zavarelli is a very persuasive, brilliant storyteller and I really liked this emotionally provocative story that has multiple sub-plots running through it, all flawlessly intertwined with one another. I was really close to giving this five stars, but I settled on a 4 stars because while I enjoyed the story, I didn’t fall in love with the characters. Gipsy and Lucian were two interesting characters but it took me a while to be emotionally connected to both of them and to be fully invested in their love story. In the beginning, Lucian came off as abrupt, cold and abrasive and he wasn't the easiest guy to warm up to and Gipsy seemed annoyingly arrogant.

That being said, I was held captive by this story until the very end because I just needed to know how the author would turn things around. And I was not disappointed! This book definitely packed such a punch that saying I’m impressed would be an understatement. I’m glad I took a chance on this book and I will definitely read more from this author. Plus, the cover artwork is fantastic!

This book is great. The storyline flows very well and the characters are likeable and interesting. Great action throughout. Fantastic narration from both Tracy and Aaron.

Brilliant storyline

This is only the 3rd book I've read by A Zavarelli, but that has got to change. Each one so far has been five star for me, but this was something else, something unexpectedly wonderful and heartwrenching. This amazing story gripped me from the start, then completely mangled my emotions and broke me. I've been listening to the audio in my car, so crying buckets along the M3 probably wasnt the best thing, but I just couldn't switch it off. (Parts of this story are certainly close to my heart and resonate with my current life situation, so that probably added to the emotional affects)

The author has written two very different but compelling characters in Lucian and Gipsy and a story with unexpected twists and turns I absolutely loved. There are some dark and disturbing elements but they were written so well and realistically. I cant wait for the next book about Gipsy's wild but emotionally damaged sister Birdie.

On a note about the audio, both narrators were excellent and added to the tension and emotion with their expressive voices.
Five stars for me, cant wait for more!

Wow! This dark romance was quite the rollercoaster ride full of twists and turns. For me, I feel like this book needs a second listen just to fully comprehend everything that happened. I kept going back and forth on whether I liked the characters or I didn't like them. By the end, though, I loved them and can't wait to listen to the second book in the series. I think Tracy Marks and Aaron Shedlock both did a great job bringing this story to life.

Wow! Really fantastic, I truly enjoyed this book. A. Zavarelli does it once more with another great story.

The characters are well written, each of them will grab your attention from the very beginning, and not just the main ones, each of them were perfect. The story is also really well written, with twists and turns that you won't see coming and that made me cry at some point.

Gipsy, a con-artist, and Lucian a criminal defense lawyer, they ate so opposite, and yet so alike in some things, both of them with secrets of their own and with an armor that little by little will be coming down.

And lastly, the narrattion. When you see that Lacy Laurel and Aaron Shedlock are narrating, you cannot expect nothing but an extraordinary narrattion. They both were perfect for the story, their voices, tone, cadence, everything was great.

**I cannot wait for the second book to come out**

I thought I had this story figured out. I was so wrong, a very unexpected twist changed e to an even better one. Little angst, but a bitter resentful start turns to respect, admiration then love and clarification.
Enjoyed the narration by Tracy and Aaron.

Hard hitting story, of broken people finding love and redemption and learning to live in spite of their demons. Really enjoyed this book, narrators just made it come alive. Brilliant work!

I read book 2 some time ago for a book club so thought this book about Birdy’s sister Gypsy would be similar. Boy was I wrong, Lucian and Gypsy’s story was so uniquely their own. So did not see the twist towards the end, definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat! I cried in this one so keep a few tissues handy.

I love Aaron’s voice and he does amazing as Lucian and the other MPOVs, I had to get used to Tracy’s voice as it just didn’t work at first for me but by the middle, I really got into the whole book and felt all the characters.

I really enjoy A. Zavarelli and this book was so much more than I expected. Very well written and detailed and very catching in its storyline. Thanks for the amazing time given in this audiobook!

what an amazing story ! I went into this audiobook completely blind and I didnt get what I was expecting , what I listened to was so much better ! I was gripped the whole time and didnt want it to end, I'm so glad Lucian and Gypsy got the ending they did , they went through so much
