Summary
Bookish, snarky, and fiercely independent Nate Boudreaux leads a solitary life. Between teaching classes at the university and working toward his PhD, he doesn’t need a partner to occupy his time, and he certainly doesn’t need a man like Alistair Drake complicating his future.
Alistair Drake, black sheep of the tremendously wealthy Drake family, is more interested in adding another notch to his bedpost than another zero to his bank account. When a Grindr message brings him to Nate’s doorstep, then straight to his bed, he has no reason to believe that what they share will be more than a simple hookup, until, three months later, a tug on his soul informs him otherwise.
For the Drake family has a secret - one that will force Nate and Alistair together as much as it will demand that they be torn apart. One that Alistair and his brothers have carried all their lives...and one that Alistair and Nate’s future children will carry, too.
Bound to each other by the three precious impossibilities, Nate and Alistair have no choice - no matter the consequence, they will fight for their forbidden clutch.
Clutch is a 64,000 word steamy omegaverse mpreg-ish romance that will leave you in stitches. It contains a Grindr hook-up gone very wrong (or very right), giant magical lizards, a pig named Olive, a wank throne, and a HEA, right down to the white picket fence.

Spectacular, Ferraiuolo's Performance is Amazing!
Sweet, funny, exciting, creative… hot, dang! Piper Scott and Virginia Kelly’s Clutch, the first episode in the Forbidden Desires series, has everything!
This is one of the most enjoyable audiobooks I’ve listened to in a very long time, and Michael Ferraiuolo’s performance is spectacular. The upper crust accents he gives to Alistair’s brothers gives just the right level of snootiness and had me laughing out loud. I also don’t think I’ve ever heard him do a “nerd” before, and his Harry is spectacular! Able to infuse emotions into the smallest exchanges between characters, Ferraiuolo brings out every bit of the feels in this one - and the authors cover just about all of them.
An incredibly creative story, I know there is much more to explore and I can’t wait to see where Scott and Kelly go from here. I hope we find out the details behind Nate’s mother’s escape from her cult, and I’m looking forward to getting Harry’s story next.
an audiobook copy of Clutch (Forbidden Desires #1) was provided to me for the purpose of my review

Throughly enjoyable
I have seldom read a more delightful and enjoyable audiobook. It draws you in slowly and as the relationship between characters develop you become invested in them as well. Light hearted and enjoyable

I wasn’t sure but it’s nice to be surprised!
I hadn’t read this before listening so really had not much idea about what I was to expect. It turn out to be a great story with plenty of laughs.
I liked both MC’s, Nate and Alistair start off as a one night stand and with plenty of twists along the way find their HEA.
Michael Ferraiuolo knocks it out of the field again with his narration, his voices are excellent and so far I’ve loved every book he’s bought to life.

Great Book and Great Audio
Piper Scott and Virginia Kelly are an instant-click for me in print, and now it seems they will be in audio as well. This was my first audiobook narrated by Michael Ferraiuolo and I was extremely impressed. To start, Clutch is a fantastic story. It is incredibly unique - set in omegaverse where mpreg exists, the omega MC Nate is simply looking for someone to help through his heat without any complications of strings. The alpha, Alistair, is looking for a similar hookup but has his own hidden secret; he is a dragon capable of impregnating an omega with eggs. By accident and chance Nate gets knocked (egged?) up, with some pretty serious consequences to follow. Nate is sassy, opinionated, and willing to do whatever is needed to keep his egg babies safe. While he did not ever expect to have an omega or a clutch, Alistair is similarly inspired to protect his new family, and his possessive streak - innate, it seems, to dragons - develops. Ferraiuolo does a fantastic job of creating a series of voices for a pretty big cast, somehow making each distinct and suitable to the character. From Nate's soft but strong tone, to Alistair's drawling upper-crust British accent, to the sarcastic undertones of Everard and the bookish Harry - each character's voice is chosen with care and precision, and perfectly fits. I cannot express how much I look forward to further partnerships between these authors and narrator.

Loved this dragon world!
Nate, a no nonsense omega meets his Alpha on a one night stand that will carry big consequences. Alistair is a purple dragon who is not supposed to breed unauthorized omegas 🤭 I like the world building and the funny and quirky characters as well as the sexy alphas, specially Alistair. It’s a pretty funny yet romantic read with a well written drama.

Superb from start to finish.
I loved this book when I first read it, so snapped up the audio version when released.
I wasn't disspointed.
Michael Ferraiuolo does one of the best narrations I've heard. Each character is voiced so differently that it is easy to know who was speaking at any given time and with four regular plus a series of secondary characters that must of been quite a task.
I absolutely loved this audio version and really hope Ferraiuolo will be doing the rest of the series.

Egg-tastic
I am fairly new to omegaverse books and this was my first dragon shifter book, I will definitely be checking out others especially if written by Piper and Virginia.
This book was really sweet and had good strong family values which I liked. Although Nate had no clue about what was happening to him, his fatherly instincts kicked in and he was a fierce protector. Alistair stepped up to be the alpha he was and took care of his family.
The banter between the characters was great, snarky and very funny. I loved the side characters as well, Harry was a hoot.
