Excellent short stories let down by poor narration

Cheerful narration almost ruins a fantastic ghost story in "The Cold Embrace". Other stories have laughably bad accents, specifically "A Respectable Woman".

excellent stories

There are some issues regarding the sound quality e.g. the elderly gentleman's story which seems to fade in and out. BUT the main issue is with the publisher's opening summary which is a measly here are some stories to name by three famous authors. No information about the other authors, or introductions or biopics. I paid good money for this very poor presentation and I expect better value. For anyone reading this review - do not be put off because the stories are first class, varied and worth a listen for their own sake
