Summary
Some scars never truly heal.
Life has been slowly improving for DCI Jack Logan lately. Happily settled down with the woman of his dreams and a dog he begrudgingly tolerates, things are finally going Jack’s way.
But could all that be about to change?
When a sadistic killer begins picking off victims on the streets of Inverness, Jack’s boss decides to bring in some outside help. But the new team member is an old flame from Jack’s past who isn’t quite ready to let him go.
And as the dead bodies rack up, the happily ever after that Jack has been building for himself might just be the next victim to fall....
City of Scars is the 14th books in the multimillion-selling DCI Logan Scottish crime fiction series. Perfect for fans of Ian Rankin, LJ Ross, and Stuart MacBride.
"With gripping, twisty-turny plots, unforgettable characters, and a rich vein of laugh-out-loud humour running throughout, if you haven't yet discovered the DCI Logan series, get started now!" (Thrilling Fiction)

Mixed Feelings
Struggled to get into this book initially. Struggled with the return of a past character. Felt it complicated the narrative and added nothing but frustration and confusion to the story. As things settleddown, grew to like the character and enjoyed the remainder of the book. As gripping as ever and fabulously narrated. Some amazing highs! Would still recommend.

best series of books ever.
I adore the books and the characters. There is something about the books that makes you want to read or listen to another one straight away. the connection between characters and the banter is brilliant. JD Kirk has a way with writing that is unlike other books in the same genre and I think that's why people enjoy them so much. Thank you JD for Logan, Hoon and the gang.

Jack & Co. Can't get enough
I have listened to all of the Jack Logan series so far and they have never let me down. Jack's wonderful lines make me laugh out loud and also Hoon even though he's quite scary. JD Kirk is so expressive with his characters and l can picture everyone. Angus King is a great narrator and brings life to all the male characters especially the language.
Would love to see this on the TV. We are greatly in need of a good Scottish police drama. Looking forward to the next book.
