Summary
This set features two audiobooks from the Chloe Cook Cozy Mystery series.
Deadly Resentment
Chloe Cook is back with another case to crack! Murder once again strikes the scenic beachside town of Cape Cod. This time, the victim is an arrogant former actor who has a bad habit of making of enemies. Unfortunately, the local police detective suspects that Chloe's old friend Paige O'Doul is the killer. To prove Paige's innocence, Chloe has to take matters into her own hands and find the real killer herself.
Killer Finale
When a loudmouthed, egotistical comedy-club owner is found dead, Chloe's once-sleepy hometown of Cape Cod is rocked to the core. Even worse, the police think one of Chloe's best friends is the killer. Convinced that her friend has been framed, the feisty, pie-loving cosmetics saleswoman is left with no choice but to take matters into her own hands to find the real killer herself.

Double the trouble
This was a fun easy to listen to cozy mystery and being a two book bundle it lasts twice as long. The stories were very similar but it means you know what to expect and enjoy. The mysteries aren't to taxing on the brain and it is easy to pick back up if you have to stop listening, making them great for long or short car rides. The characters are likeable but don't listen to the story of you are hungry as they do like there food.
Deadly Resentment
Chloe's old friend Paige O'Doul's acting troupe comes to town to put on a show. Which is a success until somebody is killed at the after party. The murder weapon is the prop used in the show pointing the police in the direction of Paige, as she was the killer on stage. Is this a case of life imitating art? Chloe won't let that happen as against advice and a warning from the police she starts investergating.
Killer Finale
A girls night out for Chloe and her best friend goes horrible wrong before it can even start, as Chloe' friend is running late and Chloe goes to her place of work to pick her up, only to find the comedy-club owner is having a bad day so all her employees are to and the fun night out planned is cancelled. The next day Chloe wakes up to the news the owner is dead and despite all the other people she argued with Chloe's friend once again is the prime suspect. Can Chloe solve the third murder to happen in her sleepily town before her friend is arrested?
I liked the narrator but the editing needed a bit of work, a few times she repeats a short sentence. It doesn't affect the story or the enjoyment,

A fun series
Sometimes I just want a short story to listen to and these books fit the bill perfectly.
The mysteries are light and fun and surprisingly fully flashed out for a short read. The narration is also very good.
A very enjoyable listen.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reading audio copy.

My Honest Review
Chloe Cook rides again, always entertaining as these stories have been I have only one problem, the three are practically the same story will different context, someone dies and Chloe's friend is a suspect, it gets tedious an tired which takes the excitement out of the discovery
BUT it is still an enjoyable read for fans of crime, mystery and pie ☺
