About this listen
There’s nothing worse than living next door to your childhood nemesis, except maybe being forced to share your dream project with him, being blackmailed into going along with something that was just wrong on so many levels, and having your hot cocoa stolen by the person that drove you to drink it in the first place. As long as she has plenty of hot cocoa, a pair of pliers on hand and is able to resist Connor O’Neil’s bad boy charm then Rory James should be able to make it through this project with her sanity intact. If not…
She’d probably face a few more nights in jail, have a few more restraining orders slapped against her and lose her heart to the man that ruined her life.

In the third installment of R. L. Mathewson's Neighbor From Hell series, Rory and Connor are childhood nemeses who are thrown together as adults to work on a joint construction project. They still can't stand one another, but their outward animosity covers their mutually undeniable attraction, and it isn't long before their passion consumes them. Fran Jules is impressive in capturing the sizzling chemistry between Rory and Connor, including the various flashbacks where Jules uses perfect childish pitch. Checkmate hinges on this love/hate relationship, and Jules' enthusiastic performance makes it a hilarious and sexy romp.

With enemies like these...
Any additional comments?
With enemies like this, well...
It couldn't have ended in any other way. The twists and turns in their relationship is enough to drive anyone nuts. But to go to hell and back for someone you love? I liked the stubborn pranks as well as the realisation of love.
Another fine addition to the NFH series.

Checkmate
I am new to The Neighbours from Hell series on audio book. I really enjoyed the books & was really surprised at how well they transfer onto audio. I love this story because it is different. No girl meets boy & falls instantly in love. Nope ..this is girl meets boy & hates him. I like Connor as he has hidden depths. Rory is courageous but I am not a big fan of violence & she certainly does a fair amount of kicking. A fun story that I would recommend

Great book
Loved the book but the resolution seemed rushed and underwhelming. The characters had so much chemistry and I loved their storyline. Only fault was Connor was a bit sexist but I guess that added to his character development.
