Summary
For a week, Brek Trigan has left behind the frigid nights and icy days of life on the mining colony he calls home. He's on holiday to his ancestral planet, and he finds a sparkling, welcoming world of riches and warmth.
But the longer he remains, the more he begins to see cracks in the glistening façade. When civil unrest erupts, Brek's plans for a peaceful getaway are dashed. Suddenly he's drawn into a conflict that will change the fate of his people, whether he wants to be or not.

Great story
This was different to what I normally listen to but i really enjoyed it, it is well written and the story setting is an interesting one.
The narrator takes a little getting used to, but its fine after 10 mins,
The only reason I have marked this down slightly is that it is so short but once you get onto books 2 & 3 things really get going and make it worth while.
Please note that I was given a free copy of this audiobook to provide a non-biased review

Liked the Story not the narrator
This is almost like a teaser book at just under 2 hours long. The story opens up pa vivid world which offers lots of routes to explore. I wont go into the plot as it is a very short book and would end up giving it away. I am looking forward to jumping into the next one. Although I wasn't keen on the narrator as the books are all relatively short around the 5 hour mark I think I will get through them as the story appears to be very good so far.

Anarchy spells doom
A miner travels off-world to visit the planet from which his parents emigrated, Central, and bears witness to a protest that suddenly turns violent. Bemused, he returns from whence he came, only to run into further trouble.
A short introduction to a distant, alien society that seems to be struggling with discontent and other issues. Well written with acceptable narration, it keeps your attention and comes to a natural conclusion. Curious that, particularly as this is the first in a series! Enjoyable enough to make you want to check out the next one.

Not sure.
I was given a free copy of this book and I'm leaving an honest and voluntary review.
I'm not sure if I liked this 1st book in the serise.
I couldn't really get into it, it didn't grab my full attention. totally honesty I didn't get what the story was all about. it does end on a cliff hanger.
The narration is really good.
please remember this is only my opinion.

Enjoyable
This is an enjoyable story, but I do believe that audiobooks are better when the narrator is of the same gender as the majority of the characters.
Almost all the characters in Catalyst are men, so I feel that a male narrator would have been a better choice. However, the book ended on a great cliffhanger, and I am definitely interested to read the next part.

Good start to the Tribari Freedom Chronicles
Enjoyed to book in general, though initially I wasn't sure where the story was going and at the end of the very short book I was still uncertain. I has raised my curiosity in the next books.
The enunciation of the narrator was quite irritating and distracting though.
