Summary
"You can read this story without having read anything else by Olson, and I highly recommend it." (Charles de Lint, author of The Newford series and Moonheart, in the Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction)
All her life, Sashi’s mother warned her not to get involved with werewolf problems. But Sashi, a witch who uses magic to heal sick and injured bodies, has never made a habit of ignoring trauma. When she meets an abused shapeshifter that no one else seems willing to help, Sashi will risk everything - including a budding romance with a human, Will - to save a woman who can’t save herself.

Fantastic
I love the fact we’ve had an incite into another member of the old worlds past. I hope you keep them coming. Another great read and love the twists.

Good Prequel
Can be read stand alone but if you have read the Scarlett Barnard novels it gives some background to the Werewolf pack especially the history behind Will Carling and Caroline Also Sashi and her Mum appear as minor characters again in the main series
Its 2 linked stories a very abusive one between Astrid and the alpha Wolf and a much more caring one between Sashi and Will.
It holds the attention and although its fairly predictable its an enjoyable novella
Its a bit more YA than the main books but its an entertaining listen - mostly narrated well by Amy McFadden though the English Accents are not the best. If you like the Scarlett Barnard and Lex Luther books you will almost certainly enjoy this - especially if you like getting background detail on some of the characters
I probably would recommend if you are new to Melissa F Olson starting with the Scarlett Bernard books first and coming back to this but there is no reason why you couldn't start here.
