Summary
The ultimate secret. The ultimate agent. The President's vampire. Zach Barrows is an ambitious young White House staffer whose career takes an unexpected turn when he's partnered with Nathaniel Cade, a secret agent sworn to protect the President. But Cade is no ordinary civil servant. Bound by a special blood oath, he is a vampire. Cade battles nightmares before they can break into the daylight world of the American dream, enemies far stranger-and far more dangerous-than civilians have ever imagined. Blood Oath is the first in a series of novels featuring Nathaniel Cade-the President's vampire.

Good story
this is a great take on the vampire story and the narrator was pretty easy to listen to.

About everyone plus the kitchen sink?!?
The blurb hooked me on Nathanial Cade: I was therefore crushed that 70% of the many, many, many POVs was of the villains (including a mindless zombie and an overgrown frat boy) while 10% of the story was info dumps. Then, Blood Oath tried to be everything from black ops to zombie horror to political thriller to tortured vampire fantasy. Sigh. Finally, as l have aged out of young | new adult characters, Zach Burrows felt like nails on a chalkboard. It was solely Bronson Pinchot's narration that enabled me to listen to the cliche and tropes malarkey that BO turned out to be.
