Summary

In our book Martyrs, They Died for Christ we tracked the walk of two people born into a time of infamy, that of a Blessed Edith Stein and Adolf Hitler. One went to her death in reparation for the sins of the other who had caused such death and devastation. One will be remembered for her generous heart and the other will be accursed for generations to come.

This story is about another who suffered, only as a Dry Martyr for her Lord, a willing victim of sacrifice for her Church. Just as Blessed Anna Maria Taigi was being born in Italy, another child was coming into the world, Napoleon Bonaparte. When Anna Maria opened her eyes and let out her first cry, it was to a world groaning in pain, a world inundated by sin and perversion, very like our own. The throne of France was heading madly toward its own destruction and demise, taking Christianity down with it. Because of the decadence of that court, with its greed and disregard for its own people, anger was fueled by a few with an agenda; and the furor spread throughout France, with the Church becoming a target of the holocaust, innocent priests and religious falling alongside the nobility, victims of the guillotine in that insidious French Revolution.

It looked like the end of all that was decent and traditional. Whole nations, known for their faithfulness to the Church, were swept away by the deadly current, their leaders drowning in sin. Masonry entered holy Poland through the betrayal of its own king, he whom his subjects so loved and trusted. Helpless lambs of Catholic countries like Spain and Italy were sacrificed as their royalty flocked to the Masonic Temple erected in Warsaw, seeking the prestige and power that this diabolical society could offer them. But its head is the father of lies and he always betrays. As he was making promises to the unscrupulous nobility, he was placing his fallen angels among equally decadent peasants who would fan the flames of discontent and cause the demise of not only the Royal Houses of Europe but the destruction of the Church as well.
