Summary

Fall in love with Vermont in this USA Today best-selling series.

The last person Griffin Shipley expects to find stuck in a ditch on his Vermont country road is his ex-hookup. Five years ago, they’d shared a couple of steamy nights together. But that was a lifetime ago.

At 27, Griff is now the accidental patriarch of his family farm. Even his enormous shoulders feel the strain of supporting his mother, three siblings, and a dotty grandfather. He doesn’t have time for the sorority girl who’s shown up expecting to buy his harvest at half price.

Vermont was never in Audrey Kidder’s travel plans. Neither was Griff Shipley. But she needs a second chance with the restaurant conglomerate employing her. Okay—a fifth chance. And no self-righteous lumbersexual farmer will stand in her way.

They’re adversaries. They want entirely different things from life. Too bad their sexual chemistry is as hot as Audrey’s top secret enchilada sauce, and then some.

Warning: This stand-alone novel contains growly alpha farmers, gourmet yumminess, a steamy outdoor shower, and proof that farmers don't mind getting dirty.

Holy hell Tad Branson knows how to narrate a scene

this is my first book from this author and won't be my last, I loved the story and the author clearly did their homework with its content. a fabulous narration from both of these talented two, made it a great experience. Saskia has an excellent male voice as is Tad's female voice along with both of them creating variations for other characters, which makes it easy to know who's speaking and is something only the best narrator's achieve, but I'm just gonna take a moment to fan girl over Tad Branson and his skills, swoon.ive listened to well over 300 books, I would encourage anyone to listen to this book.

second chance

Griff is a seriously grumpy farmer who runs his family farm and makes cider. Audrey was a former fling and is now a chef who is on assignment looking for farm fresh produce for the company she is working for. When they meet again sparks fly but huge obstacles stand in their way. I honestly felt as if I was right there with the characters listening to this audio book. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

Warm hearted fiction

Loved the lighthearted touch the author gave the story. Romance with a sprinkle of humour. The characters were engaging and the narration was well paced and easy on the ear. Overall an enjoyable and entertaining listen

Beautiful story, good narrators

I read Bittersweet ages ago, so seeing Bittersweet on the Plus catalogue led to downloading and listening to it as I loved the book. The performance was good and I enjoyed revisiting these characters with the narrators.
I excellent contemporary romance with great characters and minimal drama. Heated and sweet.

sweet second chances

A subtle second chance connection between sportsman turned farmer Griffin and Audrey was a satisfying listen. These two had chemistry but a relationship that took the slow build. I liked the farm setting, the family context and the connection.

Narration was good, dual POV.

BECAUSE FARMERS MAKE THE EARTH MOVE!

My second book by Sarina Bowen, I am loving this author writing

Completely engrossed from start to finish and although I listened to this on audio which was brilliant by the way, the flow was great. The right amount of angst, drama, hotness and Grumpy farmer Griff I loved him.

Griff Shipley had a promising football career in college he was one of those guys and he and Audrey had a one night stand just before the end of their time there but instead of Griff moving on his father died and he returned to his farm to work for the family.

This story is bittersweet for both characters and they are a perfect match.

Audrey, according to Griff was a girl who seemed to have everything, Griff called her a princess but looks can be deceiving. Audrey had an interfering overbearing mother who treated Audrey like she was never good enough she had high expectations of Audrey and was trying to make Audrey into a product of herself so Audrey broke away, went her own way and went to culinary school.

Audrey landed her first job at a company called BPG and instead of spending time in the kitchen like she hoped they sent her to look for products they could use in their restaurants.

Audrey and Griff meeting up again was a little bit frosty, Griff hated the big company's who didn't pay farmers their worth and he spread the word to other farmers that a rep was around so no-one would see Audrey which made her job difficult when she was trying to impress her new boss.

I loved this story and the gradual build up to Griff and Audrey's reunion and it was so hot.

I would definitely read more in this series the Shipley family had a great feel to them and I would definitely read more about the other characters.

I'm moving to Vermont!

First things first.... I am moving to Vermont to find a sexy, gruff farmer to make him my own! Kind of a like Farmer Wants A Wife, but I am going on the hunt instead of the farmer!!

When I first saw the cover,I thought this was going to be some kind of shifter/paranormal book (which I am reaaaaallly picky about reading) but as soon as I read the synopsis, I knew it wasn't and had to read.

And what a great, fun, sweet and sexy story Bittersweet is!

I adore Griff and Audrey! He is all grumpy and gruff and she is just a ball of sunshine - and they are just perfect for each other! His bitter and her sweet come together beautifully.

There really was nothing that I did not like about this book. I have read a few of Ms Bowen's previous books, and I know that I am going to get a book that is un-put-downable!

There is a heap of sass and wit in this story, not just beween Grouchy Griff and Audrey, but also among his family and workers. I was always giggling about something they said or were doing.

Saskia and Tad brought this story to life. I had already read the book, and they just gave it that extra dimension. I made myself drive the long way whenever I was in the car, just to get a few more minutes of them in. They made me smile, laugh and all the other emotions.
