Summary
Big Brother is a children's book that helps guide children with the feelings that they develop into becoming an older sibling. Big Brother helps kids realize that change is okay, change doesn't mean you are loved less. Big Brother is a guide to get through the hardships of being an older sibling. Being an older sibling has many challenges such as Who do you guys love more? Do you still love me? Mommy and Daddy I feel like youve been distant. Among other things.
Big Brother was written to raise questions from young children in a way that a parent can shape Big Brother into any kind of story they would like to. The special thing about Big Brother is that every parent can turn this book into exactly what they want to tell their children. This book can be told in a billion different ways by the listener. When making Big Brother I really harped on not giving anyone a name. I harped on that so kids can easily put their name in the book and easily put their siblings name in the book. Big Brother is the first of its kind because it is a book that is safe for all religions and of all different people from different walks of life. There is not one religious group that can say we placed something in the book that goes against anything that is celebrated or not celebrated.
Big Brother is the first of its kind because for once this is a children's book that can be told and listened to at any age. It can be read to a five year old and give great meaning, an 18 year old could listen to this book and find great meaning and also a 50 year old could listen to this book and still find great meanings.
Big Brother helps all ages understand that everyone is different and will be their own person. Not just the version that you want them to be, but the person they want themselves to be and that is okay. Big Brother, Little Sister; no matter what role you play. You are not alone and you are loved.
