About this listen

Olivia Brent has one summer to save the dairy farm she just inherited.

But there's one problem, and it's not her lactose intolerance. It's Jake Milovic.

The brooding farmhand has inherited exactly 50 percent of Brent Farm, and he's so convinced the city girl can't work the land, he bets she can't save it in a summer. Determined to prove him wrong, Olivia accepts what might be the dumbest wager of her life.

His strategy to win seems simple: follow her around, shirtlessly distracting her between bouts of relentless taunting. And it's effective - if his dark eyes and rare smiles aren't enough to sidetrack her, the sweaty, rolling topography of the man-beast's body would do the trick.

What they don't know: They'll have to weather more than each other.

Mysterious circumstances throw the farm into disarray, and with the dairy farm in danger, Olivia and Jake have to work together. But when they do, there's more to fear than either of them imagined.

Because now their hearts are on the line, and the farm won't be the only casualty if they fail.

Easy listening on a sunny afternoon in the garden. Would recommend to all who love a happy ending.

Male lead is insufferable.

Story was okay, but male lead was so frustrating. I kind of hated him - so miserable, negative and bordering on mean. Constantly shooting down any ideas to improve the business and being plain horrible to female lead. I sped up the 2nd half to x2 so I could finish it sooner as I hate to leave things unfinished. Edit- hated Jake so much I skipped to the epilogue because x2 speed wasn't enough lol

A really fun, engaging read.

I’m so glad I got this book, my first from this author. It was funny, interesting, winning, and the dialogue -especially in the fights- was very believable. I think I enjoyed the fights more than the smoochy bits. The heroine uses the familiar tropes - think Reese in Legally Blond- but the story carries it well. The confusion and consternation of the hero as he endures her glitzy, social media/Instagram approach to marketing is hilarious. The male narration is brilliant. TD’s deep low voice with edge and roar is a good counterpoint to her brightness and (apparent) carefree attitude. If you’re worried that a romance set on a farm must be hicky, this is so NOT hicky. Get the book!

I'm not saying didn't enjoy it, but....

Narration is great.
Nice uplifting ending.
But the male love interest is unbearable, jeeze, the timeless story of, no matter how horrible, emotionally unavailable, jealous, angry and mean a man is to you, you should just keep loving him, forgiving him and being his emotional punching bag and he will eventually love you back.

Horrible Male Lead

I really wanted to enjoy this story as I like a good enemies to lovers plot.
However, the male lead was just too unbearably mean and hostile for it to fit this bill.
The heroine had her flaws but she seemed to be making an effort to help the farm and just kept being put down.
DNF as it was too harsh
