Summary
Everything they never wanted...is everything they’ll ever need.
Faye Holmes’s life is the polar opposite from her racy, best-selling romances. It’s quiet, routine, and, at the moment, plagued with writer’s block. If only just a little of the passion burning up the pages of her books would warm her lonely bed. But to be honest, one-night stands aren’t her thing.
When her best friend buys her a lap dance to celebrate her latest best seller, Faye is more than shocked. She’s intrigued by the stunningly beautiful dancer whose gentle eyes seem vaguely familiar.
Talia isn’t surprised that her favorite coffee shop customer doesn’t recognise her. Few would connect Talia, mild-mannered barista, with Adria, pole dancer and star of Liverpool’s hottest new strip club. And that’s how Talia wants it. It’s safer this way.
In the glaring spotlight though, no truth can hide for long. For two women from different worlds, falling in love can be a delicious dance - and a dangerous game. Not only for their careers, but for their hearts.

shy to passionate
Oona Kivela 4 time International pole dancing champion.
I mention because it's a real thing.
pole dancers, exotic dancers, burlesque, they all work hard to tone bodies and routines, but lap dancing, I'd be jealous.
and so the story unfolds, lack of esteem, confidence, meeting in a coffee shop Tahlia the burista and the novelist customer attract at once, but tagliatelle also works in a strip club, and a load of high angst follows, made worse by a despicable best friend.
I found it both compelling reading and difficult, as the angst ratcheted up. some people just can't help interfering or backstabbing.
Melissa delivers an excellent story covering points of view on the dancing from many angles.
there were times in narration I couldn't tell who was talking, but the overall tones and inflection were great.
not dark but not a jolly read, great writing.

Good but too long
Okay but the end of the book is quite uninteresting, should have removed the last 2 chapters, it’s good at the start but then it drags and the end is mostly about sex, which is good but brings nothing to the story.

Too long winded
I liked this book to a point. It was too long repeating on the same issues. Filled with angst even in the happy times.
At first i was gripped but all the second guessing & third guessing etc got so repetitive i found myself fast forwarding quite a few times.
