"Treasure."

An amazing book of short stories, six in total, about 'life, death and the space which lies between them'. Stories 3 - 6 are poignant tales of relationships remembered, emotionally packed and, yes, sentimental but in a fierce way, stirring the reader's own assessments of the past as well as the present to come. These were read by the beautifully voiced David Basco, whose narration was also pace perfect with a fine understanding of the work, emotion present just below the surface. A fine performance which certainly assisted in bringing this reader to the verge of tears on one occasion. A marvellous pairing of text and reader. Two other stories, somewhat different from the others, we're read in turn by two other narrators, the first, The Tree House, by Scarlett Brillow, followed by, Spirit, by Meaghan Mack. Both were performed adequately, especially the second of the two, the voice rather slow and strangely resonant in parts although her accent was slightly odd, pronouncing one as wonn, only as awnly, and soles as sauls, for example. Both of these stories had a more mysterious or ethereal feel, the second especially almost poetry rather than simple text.

The six times are, in order:
- The Tree House
- Spirit
- My Angel Caves
- Memories to Treasure
- Sunset Beach
- My Father's Hands.

An excellent and sensitive collection of short stories. My thanks to the rights holder who freely gifted me with a complimentary copy upon my request via Free Audiobook Codes.
