Agt en veertig uitgesoekte Dana-stories. Vir lesers wat wou weet wie daardie mense op die omslag van Dana se blitsverkoper Uit die binneland was, lê hy nou familie uit in die storie “Familiefoto”. Maar eintlik is al die mense in sy stories familie met dieselfde kwaal: Almal mik vir daardie ontwykende droom, wat nooit verbleik nie, anderkant die scrap. Om stories oor helde te skryf is moeilik. Om die weggesteekte mense onvergeetlik te maak is moeiliker, daarom is Dana se stories so onvergeetlik. Daaroor, en omdat die mense in sy stories van ver af kom. Hulle ry Valiants en weet nog van Uncle Charlie’s, padkafees, Geloftefees, Springbokradio en Kommuniste. Die mans dra nog pakke en die vroue hoede; tant Pop en oom Jorrie en so aan. Wonderlike kortstories en fantastiese verteller

Hierdie was my eerste Afrikaanse luister boek en die eerste Dana Snyman boek, en jislaaik, ek het dit so geniet. Johann Nel is 'n bobaas verteller.

Die stories is snaaks, 'n paar hartseer, en nostalgies.

Ek bly al amper twintig in die buiteland, en ek mis dit om gereeld Afrikaans te praat: hierdie boek het my terug gevat na my kinderdae en my vreeslik "home sick" gemaak, maar op 'n goeie manier.

Absoluut wonderlik

ek is in die 1980's gebore en kan met net 'n paar van Dana Se verwysings assosieer. ek geniet dit steeds. ons bly nou in Dubai en ek mis die land.

die stories en herhinneringe is die perfekte Maat op die lang woestyn paai saans huistoe.

Dankie Dana, dit help mens tuis voel so ver van die huis af.

Excellent. Takes you back to your youth.

Would you consider the audio edition of Anderkant die scrap to be better than the print version?

What was one of the most memorable moments of Anderkant die scrap?

It brings back my youth and how we use to grew up. No fuss no nonsense. We were always happy and the storyline is exactly the same.
