Critic reviews

"E.M. Forster's 1908 romantic satire about Brits of the middling upper crust is famously sharp, funny, silly, and benevolent. L.A. Theatre Works' scripted adaptation honors all of the novel's best qualities.... No matter how you listen - for madcap froth or to skewer bourgeois pretentions - there is much to relish in this production about Britons abroad and at home." (AudioFile Magazine)

A Gem

I love hearing Eleanor Tomlinson's voice and think it's amazing they got Julian Sands back. This is such a powerful story

BACKGROUND LAUGHTER RUINS THIS WONDERFUL PLAY

Purchased as a Tribute after finding out today 21st January 2023 Julian Sands is missing on a cold mountain in USA. Like many I love Julian's voice projections. Have all of his audiobooks. Room With a View is a favourite. Just wish they had not ruined this fabulous classic by including laughing from a live audience that takes away the romantic atmosphere that was prominant & important making the perfect film production we all love.

talented cast but background laughter destroys the production

This is a beautiful book which has been destroyed by over production. The actors are capable but the script seems very short and removes the build up of characters and story that good books have. Whoever thought adding background laughter would enhance the production is mistaken and clearly use to old radio shows from decades past. This is a fabulous story and I’m sure a fuller version will portray the romance more effectively. I ordered this version in error and so sorry I did.
