About this listen
From your favorite Amazon best-selling author Faith Johnson comes this wonderful Christmas Mail Order Bride story....
Ready to build a life of her own, Marissa Davis has not had very good luck finding a husband. Although she is pretty and quite intelligent, she is also desperately shy, and the men of the city are so brash and loud. Even so, she is eager to start a life of her own, and so she decides to take her chances as a mail-order bride. Even though she will be missing Christmas at home, perhaps she can enjoy the holiday with her new family.
The problem is, Marissa has no idea how to cook or clean, much less run a household. Fortunately, however, she loves to read and has brought a collection of books to help her learn. But books cannot teach her everything, and Marissa struggles at first to be the wife William Johnson needs. To make things worse, William had neglected to tell her that he had a child, and Marissa has no experience being a mother.
As the days pass, though, both Marissa and William learn that you don’t need the experience to fall in love - or bring a family back together for a Christmas miracle.

It could’ve been much better!
Before I get into the book let me just say I love listening to different peoples accents. That is the most pronounced thing besides our luxe that tells us where we are from, but having a Middle Eastern narrator read a book about the wild west just didn’t jive to me. It says it is narrated by Heather Johnson and maybe it is, But there was no one in the book that was Middle Eastern and so it threw me off and didn’tput me in tribe or mindset of the old west. Had this been a book about Nepal or Iraq then yes, but it was about Texas. Although I love faith Johnson books and I love this one as well I just think it should have been read by someone stereo typically known to be in the wild west. I don’t like to hurt anyone’s feelings it’s so please don’t take this criticism as a negative, please take it in the spirit in which it is given so maybe next time you can get someone else to narrate your books. It is a great story about Mario who doesn’t want to live off of her sisters kindness anymore it’s all becomes a mail order bride to William and little does she know William has a five-year-olddaughter named Mary, Someone the mail order bride knew nothing about. William isn’t the only one harboring secrets though, because Merial there’s no idea how to keep house or cook and that is why she came with a suitcase full of books on home keeping. Eventually she learns how to do the chores around the house and he comes clean and apologizes for not telling her he was as rich as he claimed to be. There was more to this book and I will let you listen and find out the rest on your own but it is a happy ending and that is what I’ve come to love about Faith Ohnson books.
