A lovely book - probably a tad long

What did you like best about A Hundred Pieces of Me? What did you like least?

This book had a really good premise and I enjoyed the story but I do think it dragged a little towards the end. I also found the main character's clinging to an obsession from a teenage years a little hard to believe in given all she had been through since and that it's easy these days to trace people from your past. However I wouldn't want that to put people off listening to this - there is a lot going on!

What does Juanita McMahon bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

I really enjoy Juanita McMahon's narration and would probably download a book based on this - she is very good at voices which helps you imagine the characters.

Did A Hundred Pieces of Me inspire you to do anything?

Embarrassingly yes! I had a good clear out of my wardrobe.

Life changing

Where does A Hundred Pieces of Me rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book was by far the best book I have listened to this year.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Hundred Pieces of Me?

I think the moment the decision was made to replace items with photos that provoke the same senses and emotions really hit home with me and made me revaluate the way I life my own life.
I think Lucy Dillon has really hit the nail on the head with the mixture of funny passages and then the serious side of the health issues.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Please give your self lots of time to listen to this book as it one you will want to listen to in one sitting. I rate this as a 1 tissue box book as you will laugh and cry in equal measures

I have never been one for lots of bits and bobs but this book has made me go around my home and have a good look at the things I have. As a consequence of this I now have a lot less to dust but the things I have got left really provoke really great memories and they make me smile every time I look at them.
If you only listen to one book this month make sure it is this one ,I am sure it will change the way you look at life.

enjoyable . bit twee in parts

enjoyable and light . but a bit predictable in parts ended suddenly , preferred the dance class.

Not the uplifting, inspirational story I expected

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The story itself was ok but things seemed too drawn out, and a few things that were a bit annoying and made me feel a bit depressed. Probably not recommend it.

narrator was great at the ladies voices, though very difficult I expect to switch to men - found Naomi's voice a bit irritating and Nick's - made him sound like an old bank manager rather than a dashing photographer

Yes, could see it translate well to film format - Gina - Emily Mortimer/Carey MulliganNick - Martin Freeman/Jude Law/Tom Hardy/

A heart warming read

Would you listen to A Hundred Pieces of Me again? Why?

I like the book very much but I seldom read or listen to a book twice.

Have you listened to any of Juanita McMahon’s other performances? How does this one compare?

I have heard Juanita McMahon before and she does a wonderful job. The narration is very important to me.

Good story

Good story but sometimes wished it wasn't chopping back and forth between three different stages of her life.
Good narrative and unquestionable range of voices although I'd have liked a male to read make parts.

An uplifting pleasant light read

This was a harmless if slightly predictable tale that is gentle on the ear and mind, but mildly thought provoking. The characters are flawed as are their lives.

If you are seeking a Pulitzer winner look elsewhere, but this suited my current need for gentle escapism.

Took a while to get into it, but...

It took me a good few chapters to get into this book. After about 3 hours of listening everything started coming together and I couldn't stop listening. Not my usual type of story, but I did enjoy it.
