Summary
Brand new from the best-selling author of Villa of Sun and Secrets.
What will be will be. Belinda Marshall’s idyllic teenage life in Brittany, France, fell apart when her parents dramatically separated and her mother took her back to England.
Fast forward 35 years when Belinda’s world is once again turned upside down. It’s the week before Christmas and her employer 'surprises’ Belinda by asking for her help to rejuvenate their latest investment, a run-down campsite in Brittany.
Memories and anxieties that had lain dormant for years suddenly begin to resurface.
As secrets from a lost life threaten to overwhelm her, there is a realisation that maybe she wasn’t told the whole truth all those years ago.
Can Belinda reconcile her emotions and find happiness once more in the place she so loved and called home?

Gentle easy listening
Another great listen by Jennifer Bohnet - now I am used to the narrator I think she brings the characters to life. Would recommend to anyone who wants a book that is not too complex yet thoroughly enjoyable.

Enjoyable escapism
Beautifully crafted characters. Easy story-line with just enough intrigue to keep the story bubbling along. Very easy to listen to more than once. I have enjoyed everything that Jennifer Bohnet has put on audible.

Escapist and lovely
I had never listened to a story by Jennifer Bohnet before. It was a very enjoyable thing to listen to while painting my watercolour in the lush Italian landscape. I do know Brittany well enough too to imagine the scenes set there. The narration was very good, all the French accents were convincing. I will get another book by here soon. Thank you.

Plenty of romance and the unravelling of family secrets
The characters in this novel are well developed. Belinda's family secrets form an interesting sub plot to the camp site's restoration, while romance slowly develops in the lives of good friends, Belinda and Fern. Very enjoyable.

Sorry, didn’t live up to expectations
Disappointed with the predictable storyline, with some characters irritating ( indecisive Belinda) , others not developed ( Belinda’s father) or not very believable (business man Nigel).
Narration was poor at times, with annoying pauses mid-sentence or after someone’s name.
I’ve enjoyed other books by this author but this was not one of them. Brittany is a favourite part of France, but this doesn’t make me want to go back.
