What a fun book! With a fabulous narrator!
The narrator did a fabulous job. I am still fairly new to audio books. I have listened to only a few, and those happened to be American. This is British and while that’s of course very different, it’s really clear and easy to understand. For me, as a person for whom English isn’t her first language, it WAS a little fast at first, but that’s got more to do with me learning than with the narrator. Listening to a foreign language is just way harder than reading, but I’m taking it all in. As I listened longer it got easier! The narrator has a pleasant voice, quirky enough without being over the top, and the voice enhanced the story. It was lively! The voice suited Flick. I must say, I enjoyed listening to it more than I had thought, compared to reading.
The story itself was so fun! Flick dreams of escaping all things mystical. But Gram has other plans. Felicity (Gram doesn’t like the name Flick) is to marry an important warlock and think of continuing the lineage. Yes, that means a daughter must be conceived. To avoid that scenario, and be independent, she needs a job. But that proves to be difficult, seeing as she’s got zero work experience. Then an opportunity presents itself. The Agency of Paranormal Peculiarities. And they’re sending her back to 1999 to solve a cold case. I must say, she didn’t get a whole lotta information before she’s sent back in time!
A light-hearted, fun book. I loved everything about it! I was very excited about this book and it didn’t disappoint. In fact, it exceeded my expectations! A cozy time travel mystery that was super enjoyable. Flick is not very worldly-wise to say the least, which makes for fun moments. LOL. Which doesn’t mean lots of love ;)

A Wonderful Time Travel Adventure!
"Flic" has decided to go on her own after being told she had to consent to an arranged marriage or else. Coming from a life of immense wealth and privilege has left her very unprepared for a life of taking care of herself and her financial needs. She gets her first job and the time travel adventure begins! A great story that keeps you listening with excitement! The narrator has a wonderful voice that reflects each character in the book with perfection! I can't wait for the next adventure!
